Hello,
I have a Suzuki Intruder that im planning on repainting myself, and I wanted a couple of opinions.
I have already done a few small panels, and I have started prepping the tank.
Ripped it off, emptied it, and have started sanding it back to metal (not fun)
It has some shit inside it, I take it kero and ball bearings can clean this up?
The finished tank will be primered, then sprayed with satin black with some areas in gloss black.
Is it best to cover the entire tank in satin, then do the bits in gloss, or the other way around?
Also say when you painted the tank in the first colour, and you wish to mark out the lines you want to paint in the other colour, what tape is best to use? I imagine normal masking tape would possibly allow for some paint bleed.
Doing this all with rattle cans, so wont be a pro finish, but I dont want it looking like ass either.
Another thing, if one was to modify the tank, such as adding extra metal on top of it to change the shape and add a gauge, any suggestions on how practical this is?
