Just try a good port scanner....Softperfect Network Scanner is good as it finds open SMB shares and tests the permissions for you. DAMHIK.

Short term 'solution'.
Rego stickers are almost obsolete over here.
Plate Scanners do the job now.
Won't be too long over there.

It already seems wrong that you need a WOF to get a new license, but you still have to have both the WOF - and - the rego on your vehicle.

This altering the rego label in really not a good idea. As previously stated rego plates expire after a time if not on hold. It may pass a casual visual inspection, maybe, but not if a data base is searched if stopped by the cops for any reason. Insurance, forget it. Not only will he get the usual "using an unregistered" ticket he is in the gun for a fraud charge. "altering a document to gain an advantage" That's Crimes Act, punishable with a little bit more the wet bus ticket slap.

These labels have an issue date ( and time) on them on the right hand side, and a bar code for scanning. Very hard to mess with them successfully. Why, because its Government tax and revenue. Those departments have astounding search and seizure powers available to them and the penalties are risk prohibitively harsh.

One person steals from another, as long as the thief is a member of the perpetual victim/grievance classes, not even the proverbial wet bus ticket slap will get administered. One person steals from the government, and the thief is not a member of the perpetual victim/grievance classes, the government is unforgiving and its minions relentless.
