For ease of use a Flymo is great if they still make them.

I think it was more the ease of starting, rather than the ease of pushing that was the problem.

Back in the day when I worked on mowers for a living, Flymos were very easy to start and use. That may have been a long time ago.

So you went from spannering on lawnmowers to bicycles - was that considered a step up or down?

Was the same back in the day. Back then bike shops were mower shops to. And we only opened Saturday mornings on weekends.

Any other options?Ma is healthy enough but finds it really hard to start the one she has and after using it myself can see why it takes a hefty pull to get it going. As i say any other options? (no she doesnt want a goat).I would mow them for her myself but cant be naffed going to ch-ch on a weekly basis to do it and ive offered to pay for someone to do them but she wont have that either.
Your Mom sounds as cool as my Mom was. Tell her to get stuffed is my advice. They friggen bang on about being independent, but honestly, lawns? If you can afford to do it, pay someone to cut her grass. She will wind up a bit to start with, ignore her
