Honda Racing Corporation sign Pedrosa until end of 2016
    Wednesday, 9 July 2014
Honda Racing Corporation is pleased to officially announce an agreement has been reached with Dani Pedrosa that will see the Spanish rider remain in the factory Honda team for a further two years, until the end of 2016.
Pedrosa, who currently lies third in the World Championship – level on points with second placed Valentino Rossi – as the season reaches the halfway point, will extend his contract with Honda with whom he has raced in the World Championship since 2001.

Pedrosa is a three time World Champion (2003 in 125cc, 2004 and 2005 in 250cc) and made his debut in MotoGP™ in 2006 in the Repsol Honda Team, claiming the Rookie of the Year title and fifth position in the Championship. He has been both runner up and third in the premier class on six occasions (three each).

Shuhei Nakamoto, HRC Executive Vice President, commented, “We are very pleased to renew our contract with Dani. He is enjoying a very strong season and is currently tied with Rossi in the Championship, we are very happy with his performance. The partnership of Dani and Marc (Marquez) has proven to be successful and we look forward to another two years of success.”

Pedrosa added, “I'm very happy to be able to announce my renewal with the Repsol Honda Team, and grateful to Honda for the trust they have shown in me for a further two years. It’s the best way for me to continue in my racing career, together with the company I was with in my very first race. I am very excited to give my 100% and continue to work together with everyone at Honda Racing Corporation.
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

He is one of the better writers on matters motorcycling IMHO. He doesn't just do bitchy, although he doesn't really like the "live to ride, ride to live - Duck Dynasty reject" Harley types.

If you like good writing this guy is also worth following, although he writes only occasionally: http://www.bikesandbuddies.com
He writes of the Harley set, no racing there.
Cheers pritch, we seem to cruise the same sites, ,thanks for posting.

    Or Ducati?

EsP was reportedly somewhat dismayed at the new two year contract Rossi signed. Similarly Redding almost immediately expressed concern at DP getting a two year contract. If JL signs with Yamaha for two years thats all the top seats tied up for the foreseeable future.

The young chargers had better keep their fingers crossed that Ducati and Suzuki can bring some serious competition to the party.

That www.bikesandbuddies.com site has the option for you to be sent an email when he posts a new story. That's a good idea as he writes infrequently.

You're not wrong - with all the seats at Yamaha and Honda tied up for the next two years the racing has the potential to become processional with only four riders having the machinery and talent to get on the podium. I'd surely like to see Aleix Esparagus get a factory ride and there are two or three other younger riders who could be as explosive as Marquez has been - but there aren't going to be any bikes for them to ride.

This is made worse by the fact that the TV cameras only ever follow the top few bikes - we don't get to see much of the red-hot racing further down the field.

That is because in most of this seasons events there has been some of the best action up the front for years. Plus who really cares who comes 8th or 10th?

    Sachsenring

    http://www.motomatters.com/press_rel..._press_re.html

As per the first comment one of the Duc riders is talking about his understeer before FP1 has started.
Most just comment how short the race track is.

Should be good for Hayden with all the left hand turns ??? lol.
Must get on the PlayStation and tune up !

There is a lot happening at Ducati and I think they will have competitive machinery by the end of 2014, bring on 2015, a real 3 way Honda/Yamaha/Ducati scrap would be great........Suzuki I think will not be on the boil

Most of the races have been processional after the first five laps. Plus, it's easy to cover both ends of the field - the WSBK guys do it well.

Also because bikes are all so reliable now, when was the last time you saw one blow up? Longer races with compulsory refuelling/pitstops for tyres etc would be good.....none of this bike swap shit
