Yea after watching some of the press conference stufff the riders mentioned that there wasn't too much hard braking here so I'm leaning towards to keep them up at operating temperature.

I have however seen a pit crew burn themselves on brake discs when catching a bike from the front. It took me a while to figure out why I always had grubby legs after scrutineering bikes too...

Had a very young kid grab one of my disc rotors right after a race despite me telling his father to keep his kid away from the bike as it was as hot as fuck. Boy did he squeal. Doubt he'll do it again but.

Fucking lucky he hasn't broken anything so far. He's certainly had some huge offs! He's like the Indian Rubber Man though.

Uncle Google found me an article about the Carbon Discs

"...On faster tracks, where the brakes aren't used either regularly or heavily, the discs can be cooled considerably by airflow. To combat this loss of heat, some teams run shrouds at the front of the disc to improve the brake response in low ambient temperatures and/or on light braking circuits. The brake covers do not retain the heat in the brake as the carbon cools rapidly; they simply slow the cooling process down by flowing the air around the disc instead of over it..."

There was recently a fatality in this country as a result of a school boy receiving a head injury in a rugby match. Sports head injuries are topical, and not just in this country.

I've heard the commentators say that in SBK if a rider's helmet is scratched after an off they don't ride again that day. That seems a bit extreme.

Marquez came in to the pits after a high side in which he landed on his head/neck, hopped straight onto his other bike and went out on the track again. That though seems a bit too loose. This has become a topic of discussion.

While the SBK precaution may be a bit over the odds, I agree with those who think that following a major off a rider should be cleared by the medical staff before going back on track. It might be better if TPTB review this before a major incident, rather than as part of the fall out following a tragedy.

A MotoGP bike is no place for someone whose head isn't right.

A MAJOR MAJOR accident is coming with the Moto3 grid very soon, they all follow for the slip stream effect and lots of them just randomly shut off and slow down, there are a shit load of others behind them that are looking behind themselves with the throttle still open, there is going to be a major rear end accident very fukin soon if this is not soughted ASAP

This round has been very dangerous in this regard from what I have watched so far

Two people have been named as having been killed in a sidecar accident at the Sachsenring. Details are still sketchy but Mat oxley reports their names as Hock and Becker.

Well that was one of the most craziest starts ive ever seen in MotoGP, looked good for the home crowd for the first few laps...then back to normal.

Yeah was so stuffed up it looked really interesting. Although very hairy as most of the field crowded into a very small space.

Bradl's rather puzzling performance is accounted for by his having a bet both ways. He had slicks fitted but he had wet suspension settings, which meant his bike was performing like a pogo stick.

Yeah, I think it was Ferrari or his team mate Loccatelli. He truly had no idea why Fenati was giving him the tap.
Was a pretty rookie thing to be doing at that point of the track and proceedings.
Pity Fenati binned it in the race, hope he is OK, didn't look to flash.
