Bizarre race. Not one of the finest vintage, I'd say.
Good one from Crutchlow at last. Lorenzo too, and Iannone.
Five crashes from Bradley Smith - I'd say that will be the end of him at Tech 3.
Bradl needed a good result to secure his position and instead gets one of his worst results of the year - OK it was his team's fault but he needs a good one at the next race.
Poor work by bradls team imho a half arsed effort that didnt even seem to work as a damp set up
Jlo seems to have found something that move on VR out rossied Rossi!
I'm surprised how posters on Motomatters and crash.net are moaning on about boring racing. They are clearly just not Honda fans, but that aside the racing has been fantastic in my view with all these funny things happening but still Marquez pulls it out of the bag.
I mentioned many pages back on this thread how some rose tinted glasses are just so screwed up because the gap between the best and the worst these days is so close compared to the "good old days of the 500s". Riders were getting lapped back then and close racing wasn't regularly the norm, yet somehow people are talking like everyone was on equal machinery etc etc then and now they're not when there are only 4 decent factory bikes. Yeah like Mick Doohan's Honda was the same as the rest and Wayne Rainey's Yamaha was the same as the other Yamahas.
The best riders always get the good contracts on the best bikes so nothing has changed.
Enjoy the rest of the season after the break![]()

When I first became interested in GPs, if your name wasn't John Surtees you had no chance of winning. In the '59? Ulster GP Allan Shepherd actually ran him close so MV protested the AJS and it was measured. It was OK. Surtees later commented that the 350 MV had less advantage over the Brit singles than the 500.
A few years later there followed a purple patch when Honda started running against the MVs and there was actually some real racing. Then that period of delightful insanity that produced 50cc twins, 125 fours and a 250 six.
More recently, in the final years of 250s Aprilia were pretty much deciding who would be championship contenders before the season started. Not quite as bad as when Ago had the only MV but...
While the current situation may not be perfect, things have been a whole lot worse. We can but hope Ducati and/or Suzuki can be competitive.
There is a grey blur, and a green blur. I try to stay on the grey one. - Joey Dunlop
Is a perfect season on the cards for Márquez?
Very much so ! It's been done twice before, but luckily for us there are still a handful of opponents just busting to break the streak...![]()
While watching the last race I couldn't help but think about Dani getting a little told off if he was to tarnish the unbeatable Marquez name.
Honda must be enjoying having this status so much right now and it was hard no to think about 'Team orders' and Dani 'Knowing his place'
I'm sure this has been discussed many times but I can't find it by search.
I've heard different explanations as to why riders dangle their inside leg out as they enter a corner. I assume it has some sort of settling effect on the suspension. It still looks ODD! The more I see of it in GP the more it looks to achieve nothing, if anything the bikes seem to squirm even more on corner entry. Rather than start another thread I'm sure the followers of this MotoGP thread will have the answers. KBers always do.
Edit- Doh. Mistyped the title danfle. EDIT again - fixed the fan dangled mistype

Some say it gets a bit more weight inside and foward when the rider is more pr less on the centre of the bike
VR started it I think.
A few interesting things being reported.
MotoMatters (usually a credible source of info) is saying that Marque Marquez is going to ride both Moto2 and MotoGP at Valencia.
Suzuki seats going to be taken by Maveric Vinales and either Dovi or Crutchlow.
Aleix Espargaro to Ducati (noooooooooooooo).
Leaves both Forward racing seats free (mind you, their competitiveness may be dented when they have to use their own frames, rather than the Yamaha ones, next year).
Interesting indeed.
Funny thing I tried it once to see what hanging me leg out would do. It just felt so wrong and unsettling. Bloody scary really, entering a corner fast is when I want to have full control over the bike, this dangling ya leg just gives you a 'oh shit' moment.
Gazza, I've not been out in ages. Wet and cold winter or my aging bones maybe? Also trying to sell the house to move up your way so weekends are full on busy. The MV will get a flat battery if I'm not careful from lack of use.

Try doing skids on a mountain bike with your inside leg out.
You can balance right on the edge of the skid.
I think this is similar control to what the GP guys want (without the skids) though I could be wrong, just what I've played with.
