Well, there was some interesting action there. "Rubbing is racing" being the operative phrase of the day.

I don't speak Italian, but I wish Nick Harris would have another look at how Bastianini is spelt. He says it wrong every time even though his co-commentator is saying it how it is spelt. That might seem picky, but it's an indication of a commentator's professionalism - or the lack thereof.

WSB have one too,Green I think his name is?
I forgave Harris because it was his home GP but I always have the mute button ready.

It is reported that B Smith had a cracked Rim on the rear of his bike causing the drama;s for him. His lap times when he got going with wheel with correct pressure prooved he was capable if no drama in the first place. MM is deffinately a bloody hero and a star, but it is also obvious the Honda is just that little bit better on the brakes and lines that they can can use, much more flexable than the Yamaha allowing him to be the man he is.

Yeah mate, if Dovi can ever persuade a set of tyres to work well for race distance he is a huge chance of a podium before too long. Seem to recall him making Crutchrot look a bit of a goat at Tech 3 as well, actually...

Betcha he suffers from gout, which is a form of arthritis.
But he should know how to deal with it by now.

I can't agree with you more. Harris pisses me off when he gets the riders names wrong.
It is BAS TI A NINI not BAS TAI NINI or BAS TAI ANI or whatever he says.
And it is AAN DREA not ON DREA.
    Who else have I forgotten???
SMI, SMY, oh, I can't even get that one, Smith or whatever it is.....

Jonathon Green's commentary doesn't even make sense sometimes, if it wasn't for his comments man (Steve Martin?) the commentary would be incomprehensible.
And I did send a message to Martin thanking him for his efforts, "providing light where there would otherwise be darkness".

I guess the commentator is there to generate excitement, and the Whithams and Martins etc are there to provide understanding.

Until the big shakeup this year I think it was the BBC used an Australian (Cox?) who sometimes used language that Brits and Americans couldn't understand. One example I recall was a discussion about his comment, "Lorenzo is riding hands and heels."

This was mentioned on the MotoPod podcast, most of his audience were at a complete loss as to what he was on about. Australians and Kiwis of a certain age will understand, and I did advise the guys at MotoPod that it was a term from horse racing implying that the rider was racing but was not using the whip. A motorsport analogy might be, "riding at 8 tenths".

Anyhoo, it does appear that disatisfaction with commentators is an international event in its own right.

Losing the Moody + Ryder + Spalding commentary team was the worst thing to happen to the sport for a long time. They were the consummate professionals. Always tried to get names correct, all 3 of them were extremely knowledgeable of the sport and a lot of the stuff they talked about they actually experienced.

I did actually like Charlie Cox, but that's cos I'm a Kiwi and understand most of what he was saying.

Nick Harris and Jonathan Green both need a really, really hard kick in the nuts.

I suffer badly from gout. It's certainly not pleasant. But unless it's severe, which I'd be surprised if his is if he suffers from it...it's quite easily managed. And it's certainly not temp related.

In Moto3 Harris had me thinking he was watching a different race, even 6 laps out, I could see Miller wasn't getting near the front.
Harris had a hard on for Miller for sure.
I used to really enjoy the Sheene commentary in the smaller class so I'm not anti pom..

I am 46 years old and I haven't heard that one.
Until this year we would get this fat little dick called Greg Creamer (pronounced Kramer as in Seinfield) do a bit of a talk before the race and also every time we came back from commercial before the world feed commentators. He actually ruined it for me with his many mispronunciations of the riders names. The worst was Lorentho (Lorenzo). Fucked if I know why but he persisted with that one for the longest time. His comments were shit too.
