Nothing wrong with that, at least it gives us half a race of knuckle-up before the inevitable tyre degradation sets in, normal order is restored and they run for the flag. If this wasn't happening, forum contributors worldwide would continue their pitiful "that race was BORING" bleating, clearly they aren't looking closely enough at what's required to get a GP bike round a track quickly.
Make no mistake, the Dorna knob jockeys are in the business of entertainment, not the purity of racing, so these flurries of defiance by Ducati and co while the tyres last may be artificial, but at least they are good viewing.
And if the tyre company can ever get their intermediates to last a full race, Dovi is an increasingly good chance to finish on the box one day soon.

The commentary team were discussing this again during qualifying this morning. Marquez likes to give the Duc and satellite riders a tow during qualifying so as to put them between himself and the likes of Lorenzo, Pedrosa, and Rossi on the grid. He has no desire to give the other factory riders a tow. At one point he looked around at Ianone as much as to say, "Keep up."

Stoner used to whinge about the "caravans" but then he wasn't really a glass half full kinda guy. Marquez has turned a potential piss-off into a plus. OK, it did bite him on the arse a bit this morning but this is the first time this season he isn't on pole.

It was getting late and I had an appointment this morning so I was agonising whether to hit the hay or stay up for the race. Struck a compromise and went to bed with the iPad. Didn't have much trouble staying awake.

And Marc VDS are going to MotoGP with a factory RCV for Scott Redding. Maybe Shaun was right and Pete Benson will head the crew?

Haha I only woke up in time for the last 4 laps of the Motogp race, that was enough for now though

    Bugger bugger bugger!!

My son and I have this thing goin about Moto GP nights, Bourbon and kettle fries so it has to be tonight
I usually stay off the net so as to avoid the result well I screwed up this morning by clicking into fuckbook. First thing that pops up "ROSSI WINS" Faaarrrk

But good on him he's reinvented himself and last article I read was even big enough to admit his mistakes i.e. the garage wall etc. I watched the full pre race interviews on MOtoGP.com and him and JL seem to be getting on best I've seen. Good on the old fox
Was wondering if you took his first win and his last win if he'd have the longest career at the top in MotoGP???

That's exactly what Rossi was commenting on it lost him the tow in the previous race and he lost touch with MM and JL. Call me a purest but I don't agree (bloody hate) bikes having different rules in the same race it screws everything up, but I guess we just have to put up with it until 2016?? IT might give aprilia and Suzuki a bit more hope in their first season to if they enter under those rules but the placings and times are artificial to me.

Sounds like a great nights racing to be had if Moto2 and 3 are as good as last race to
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Alex Barros won in Spain in 1993 and in Portugal in 2005 (when he was 35).
His career went from 1986 to 2007.

Awesome race, what a crowd! How good was Rossi sticking it to Marquez? You pass me, I pass you! Bring on Aragon as there should be all four of them going at it if last year was anything to go by.

Great once again to see Ducati up there, I know they held Dani up a bit but for Dovi to stick with him to the end is great for the sport as it has been a long time coming. I know they are running under different rules, but if it makes the racing better I'm all for it.

I was trying to also but dipped out. Now I dont bother. I find it doesnt detract from my enjoyment of the races knowing the outcome. I was going to try and stay up but fell asleep during the Moto2 race and called it quits.

Gotta say, I love Sommet sports though.

    will watch the race tonight.

Moto GP hasn't really been around that long...if you want to see long careers have a look at several guys who won GP's in the 1930's and came back and won post war up to the mid 1950's.
Most unlikely to happen now due to the greater number of races and more demands on their time. it's been suggested in a lot of sports science research that 15 years is probably the maximum length of pro sport career now. darts players would seem to be excepted...and Vale.....

I was one of the people who suggested that Rossi was past his prime.

Last night the wily old fox showed me how much I know.

Fantastic result although I would have preferred to have MM and VR dicing like that through the whole race.

    Good enough for now.

I think Rossi put on his leathers that day thinking win or crash. Made for an amazing race.

Also poor Folger, race direction shafted him.
