To be fair to the commentators, and Harris and Greene piss me off too; they don't have a 40 inch plus screen. They have a series of lap tops giving them different information. So if Harris is looking to see who is doing the fastest lap and somebody goes down in the corner of another screen he can and does miss it.

Overnight it was reported by one of the Brit journos that Rossi predicted a great future for Bastianini. So I sent him a message saying in that case I hoped someone will tell Harris how to pronounce the name since he's going to be saying it a lot. I'd better dismount that hobby horse about now.

He'll still find 4 different ways to mispronounce it

Looking like next season may be one of the best in a while with the new manufacturers, some fresh (and old talent coming in), some talented riders moving on to better machinery and the Ducati's almost up there with the Honda's and Yamaha's. Can't wait!
Agreed man, the next 2-3 years will be very interesting

...the first tv coverage of a Motorcycle Grand Prix I ever saw was around '66 and the few seconds that was shown on a program that may have been called World Scene, on a sunday arvo was in the old Pathe style delivery. Seeing a couple of black forms with black leathers and cardboard dome helmets off in the distance at Monte Carlo was unbelievable to a young lad...I remember the clipped Brit voice saying, 'that's Giacomo Agostini going round the bend followed closely by Phil Read the Englishman...then it was over...my lovely old aunty who was quick of wit said, 'they're round the bend all right'...those few moments have stuck with me ever since

Your spelling isn't a problem, I can generally see what you mean, and anyway you fit right in on KB.

If spelling is too bad it becomes a distraction, and there was one guy even his KB name seemed to be spelt wrong, reading his stuff was sometimes just too much touble. His spelling, in combination with a solid wall of text and minimal punctuation, could make his writings almost indecipherable. Even if he was making sense otherwise.

Nick Harrris' mispronunciations are also a distraction. (He isn't a relation of yours is he? :-) His job is to describe what's happening for anybody who is watching, not all of whom may be fans. His errors are jarring and take attention away from the racing which is the opposite of what he should be doing.

I'm not saying I could do his job, but presumably he is payed good money to do it so we expect a reasonable job. For what it's worth I still prefer Harris to Greene.

It does seem that rubbishing commentators is an international sport. When the BT team took over the commentaries in Britain this year a lot of the reaction was really vicious and personal.

Now y'all can feel free to check my spelling.

JACK MILLER TO JOIN CWM-LCR HONDA TEAM FOR THE 2015 MOTOGP CAMPAIGN

The CWM-LCR Honda Team is pleased to officially announce that Australian rider, Jack Miller, will compete with them in the 2015 MotoGP World Championship riding the Honda RC213V-RS Open Specification bike.

The 19-year-old racer from Townsville, who is currently leading the Moto3 World Championship, will compete in the MotoGP Open Class thanks to the support of HRC - Honda Racing Corporation, LCR’s historical sponsors and new team partner CWM FX, alongside the more experienced British talent Cal Crutchlow Crutchlow riding the Honda 本田技研工業(株) RC213V Factory Specification bike.

This is the first time since their debut in the MotoGP class in 2006, that Lucio Cecchinello’s squad will field two riders, and this is largely thanks to new sponsor CWMFX.com.

Jack Miller : “I’m very happy to make the leap up to MotoGP next year, especially because I will do so alongside HRC. It's a dream come true; I think that every rider would like to race at the highest level in the World Championship with a Honda. It is certainly a big jump from Moto3 to MotoGP, but I am convinced that we are ready and that, step-by-step, learning every day, we can do a great job. It's a fantastic opportunity and I'm very excited about starting this new stage of my career with HRC - Honda Racing Corporation, whom I wish to thank together with CWM LCR Honda Team. I'm looking forward to working with them! In the meantime, I remain fully focused on this season's Moto3 World Championship. I will have to avoid any distraction in order to fight for the title.”

Lucio Cecchinello (CWM-LCR Team Principal): “Without any doubt, this is a very exciting project and a completely new challenge for us. We do believe that Jack will be a future strong performer in the premier class due to his undeniable talent, motivation and drive. Together with Honda we will do our best to let him familiarise himself, step by step, with the MotoGP class. For sure Jack will need time to learn how to ride a 1000cc machine but there is no rush, and next year will just be a learning season for him in the new Class. Honda has a long term plan with him and we believe that with no pressure Jack will be able to show his talent in MotoGP.”

Training him up to replace Pedrosa I'd guess

I'm surprised I haven't broken more pairs of glasses because of you. Headbutting the desk so much isn't good.

Honda are, of course, continuing to foster talent (man did they luck out with Marquez) in signing Miller. He will be on an open class Honda which will be much more competitive, being this year's bike but without the zoot gearbox.

Next couple of years are going to be crackers - with the great riders and excellent machinery lined up. When Aprilia get their bike sorted, Ducati's new machine arrives and KTM joins in, we will have unparalleled racing. Can't wait.

What a life aye training and havin a blast at the same time

BTW never seen Pedro's name in any of these wonder if he trains on dirt??

    Wednesday, 17 September 2014
Following his victory at the Gran Premio TIM di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini on Sunday, Valentino Rossi invited MotoGP™ World Champion Marc Marquez and a host of World Championship stars for a day of riding at his impressive MotorRanch facility.
Rossi and Marquez were joined by the likes of Francesco Bagnaia, Leon Camier, Loris Capirossi, Luca Marini, Andrea Migno, Franco Morbidelli, Miguel Oliveira, Mattia Pasini, Tito Rabat and Bradley Smith for a day of dirt riding.

Just a few kilometres from Misano, the scene of Rossi’s superb victory and the uncharacteristic Marquez crash which saw him end up 15th in the race on Sunday, the riders reconvened at Rossi’s MotorRanch dirt track circuit on the outskirts of his home town Tavullia.

The nine-time World Champion regularly rides and trains at the purpose built facility which is also a training ground for the young riders of the VR46 Academy. Marquez is a keen motocross rider in his spare time and he enjoyed the day riding a Honda CRF 450, alongside Rossi and their World Championship colleagues.

Pedrosa? He put a picture up recently on his facebook of himself doing a bit of dirt riding, so yeah I think so, perhaps he never made the cool boys club.

Interview with Jeremy McWilliams and Phil London (WIL Sport)

    http://www.crash.net/motogp/intervie...lliams-qa.html

Interesting comments regarding Moto2 laptimes compared to SBK.

Interesting comments regarding WIL Sport support of young riders. I am not sure how I am feeling about what was said, but one cannot deny that the work that Phil and WIL Sport have done over the past 4-5 years has made a huge difference to the aspirations of several young riders.
