I don't think that Marquez rides as much like Stoner, as everyone (probably including Stoner) says.
Everyone else is catching on to how Marquez does it, and no one could emulate Stoner at all.
So not to take away from Marquez at all, he is a fucken freak for just going out and doing it. But he seems to be doing nothing particularly more difficult than the rest of the crop were, he just had the balls and skill to do it first.
Anyhoo, just saw the last race. What a fucken choice spectacle! Rossi did so fucken well to slow Marquez up mid turn for 15 or so laps.
Jorge for Suzuki!!!
I reckon dp looked the fastest,MM,isnt afraid to try to overtake anyone at any corner, strangely the honda looks so stable under brakes,it was only a couple of seasons ago, that the yamaha had that trait
Like I said. He was the first to start doing whatever it is, but it's something the rest of the aliens are copying.
Anyone who tried to copy Stoner, ended up in the gravel.
Watch Marc ride, and he often has the back wheel off the ground as he tips in. To quite a disgusting amount of lean angle no less! It is that I believe that gives him an edge, yet how many times did he outbrake Rossi into turn 1 this weekend been? Just the once that actually worked. Every other time Rossi was going in just as hot as Marquez could.
The amount of drift when braking into the corners Marquez uses is the main difference i see in riding styles. When he was following Rossi there wasnt much but when he was out in front it was very noticeable.
The drifting is the main part of his higher/looser talent to me which he hilighted in Moto2 also, he gets that comfortable with his bike that it 100% normall to be riding it side ways like that, and are sure that riding that way all the time makes you push the limits to get back to where you like to be as the rider sideways and feeling totally in control of the situation, he is so relaxed to watch riding this way.
Man it would be so cool to have them change the amount of ECU control down to say Moto2 level for traction control, I think there is prob only a few out there now that would deal with that well
The thing I read about was describing how he sometimes starts turning in with the back wheel still in the air. When the back wheel hits the ground the bike is leaning and the wheels are already out of alignment. Normally you'd want to avoind that situation, well I would anyway. They had to change the suspension settings to permit him to do that regularly.
And so far I don't see any others doing this.
Where I read that? God knows. I suspect Emmett or Oxley
OK here you go:

Oh and the elbow? That's soooo last year. They're doing the shoulder now, Bradle was doing it at Barcelona and Redding's leathers showed he had been getting a shoulder down too.
