    2006 Suzuki GSR600

I've owned the bike for about 1.5 years, it is a good all-rounder, fun on the track (I've done 1 track day on it http://youtu.be/zL_-ZtiO-us) or in the twisties, but also really comfortable commuting or on long journeys due to the upright seating position. It handles a pillion well also, my girlfriend says it is more comfortable than my 1999 SV650S.
It has a pack rack, frame sliders, radiator guard and there is also a Givi screen which isn't fitted at the moment (I can fit it if wanted). Other than that it is all standard as far as I know.

I've changed the oil every 6000km or 6 months (last changed at 40509km on 26/4/2013) and have changed the brake fluid in November 2011. The chain and sprockets look good. New air filter at about 34000km. The rear tyre is an Avon VP60 put on at 35800km and has 2mm min tread at centre, the front tyre is a Pilot Power put on at 36600km and has 3mm min tread (both measured at about 40510km on 30/4/13). The previous owner said the valves were checked at 24000km. Brand new front and rear sintered brake pads and new rear disk (not fitted yet but I can if wanted). The front discs are at 4.77mm RH and 4.85mm LH (min th. 4.5mm) so are ok.

The bike has good fuel economy touring, I got over 20km/L riding from Taupo to Cambridge. Typically on weekend rides through the twisties it gets more like 17-18km/L. Commuting with stops and starts etc it is more thirsty and has gotten as low as 13.5km/L. The most I have done on a tank is 250km (on 14.11L) but the tank is supposed to be 16.5L so touring you should be able to do 330km before running out of gas.

Overall it is in good condition but has wear and tear as you'd expect from a bike of this age. As far as I know it has never been crashed. It looks like it may have been dropped on its side at standstill at some point as there are small scratches on the RH engine cover. It has small scuffs on the tail fairings that the previous owner said were from him manoeuvring it through a concrete doorway into a room under the house where he kept it. The fork dust seals have a small amount of rust on them but the forks do not leak.

The only problems I've had with it was excess throttle snatch which has been fixed by adjusting the TPS sensor (as per this thread here http://www.suzuki-gsr.co.uk/index.php?topic=2735.0 ) and pulsing front brakes when coming to a slow stop, which it still does. I've measured the discs, the runout is well within spec (RH disc 0.14mm, LH disc 0.09mm service limit 0.30mm). I think it is caused by the small amount of runout making the disc rub on the pads at one point and wearing fractionally thinner than the rest of the disc. I had the same problem on a previous bike, tried replacing the discs and caliper seals then found out the new discs were wearing slightly unevenly too, so went back to the old discs and the pulsing seemed to go away by itself. I'm not sure if it was because of more high speed braking from track days that fixed them or what. At any rate, I don't think the pulsing is enough to be a problem. I thought I could feel it a bit on the track braking hard into the slower corners but am not certain and it didn't cause any trouble.

It now has two keys, I just got a spare immobiliser key made.

I'm selling it to reduce debt and because I feel like putting my SV650S back on the road. I can no longer afford to do loads of track days which is what I was keeping the SV for, so the SV has just been sitting there gathering dust and looking sad. I've upgraded the SV's suspension to suit me better and think I prefer the v-twin over the inline 4. Also the SV is worth less, so the GSR is the logical one to sell.

    Rego till 23/7/2013
    WOF till 24/10/2013

The km may go up slightly as I will continue to use it until it is sold.

    No trades. Not LAMS approved.

Price reduced again to $5200, there are too many cheap bikes on trademe, or maybe I'm too impatient, it is now the cheapest GSR by $1000!

Indeed, the cheapest I'd seen was 6,500.

    That is one tasty-looking bike!

Don't know if this will help or hinder the sale, but here's the video from the MotoTT taupo track day on 13th March 2013. Group 3, session 5.

price increased to $5150 because I got a new spare key made for it (they are expensive immobiliser keys, $156 each).

At the moment I'm not in a hurry to sell so probably won't accept offers much below the asking price. If it doesn't sell for my asking price I'll keep the bike until spring or summer, do a bit of maintenance on it and hopefully get a higher price.
