    2002 VTR 1000 for sale

Unfortunately I have decided to sell my beloved VTR
The bike is just too much fun and I keep getting into trouble!

Things to know about all VTR’s:
2002 onward is the model with the bigger tank, better riding position and digital fuel gauge. 02 on also have adjustable front suspension. Pre 2002 the VTR has a tiny 16l tank and crap front forks. Also Jap imports are crap and restricted!

Mine is a NZ new full power model!

Things done by previous owner not long before I got it:
$700 odd invoice for fork seals and new rear tyre. He also had invoices for regular oil changes.

Since I have had the bike it has had:
    New PBR front sprocket
New AFAM alloy rear sprocket (also have a spear AFAM to replace it with).
Near new DID x-ring chain (off my VFR)
Checked plugs is running NGK iridium (have new ones to replace these at the 50k oil and filter change)
New oil and oil filter 1500kms ago.
Things I have done to my VTR that all VTR’s need doing are:
Carbs rejetted to suit the Scorpion cans
Removed K&N air filter and fitted factory air filter when carbs were jetted (way harder/ almost impossible to get them running perfect with a K&N)
Set TPS (throttle position sensor) when carbs were jetted
Disabled PAIR system, stops backfire on deceleration
Removed the restrictor plates in the inlets that the 02- VTR’s have
    Bike actually runs 100% now
Replaced the voltage regulator that always fails with a bigger aftermarket unit (no more over or under charged battery).
My VTR has also had the front indicator holes professionally glassed over and indicators moved slightly to make them less prone to getting snapped off.
Also the indicators have been replaced with small aftermarket units that look much better.
Bike has a pack rack, clear tail light, seat cowl and belly pan colour matched to the bike.
She also has CBR mirrors fitted so you can actually see behind you!
The bike has had a complete professional re-spray in turquoise blue, looks awesome and stands out among other VTR’s
The bike has 43k on the clock at the moment.
Front and rear sinted pads half worn
Michelin’s front and rear, front starting to get a bit low but still WOF able and the rear is mint.
Reg on hold, wof runs out this month and I don’t want to take it in for one, just more chances to get in the poo! It will go straight through no problems.
