Human beings are fuck ups - all of us ... that's the nature of human beings ... have you kept ALL of your promises ??? All the promises you ever made during your life?

And you know what promises Len made to his wife do you ???
Oh well good on ya for not giving up! I think more marriages fail then not now days? I am not married, just young, dumb, naive and in love
I haven't kept all my promises, you right doubt there is any one who has. I do disagree with saying that adultery is OK. Yea sure we are humans we fuck up a lot of the time. I don't feel as though that is a situation where, 'whoops sorry' is appropriate.

And I'm not talking in regards to Len brown apologizing to Auckland (let him get on with the job), I am referring to the fact that a husband cheated on his wife. Who knows maybe they have an 'open relationship'

I never said adultery was OK ... I said it was not illegal ... there is a huge difference ... yeah .. I don't think that "whoops, srry" is enough eitehr .. but I do think that it's between him and his wife and not a public matter .. (and flowers is not enough either ...)

I am glad that I can see a softening in your attitude ...

"The real question is": Does Len Brown have an open relationship with his electors? Apparently not!

Brown has made his peace with his family (fair enough) but he has "told" his electors to forgive him and "he" has arrogantly declared his own authority to continue!

The electors made their choice at the previous election based on incomplete "declared information" he should be judged now on the "full known facts"!

Brown is running rough shod over his electors and dictating the terms of acceptance to his office and to hell with their opinions or desires for his accountability!

So Auckland simply capitulates and surrenders to Browns dictatorial terms for "their" Mayoral office! ... Brown's way or the highway!

    Good luck Auckland.

I wonder how many bylaws are used to defy 'morals' inside the community? ie council by laws not govt ones...

I see how the mayor cannot lead morality debates on sexual issues but does the council provide any definitions?

As written earlier, the official enquiry still has to run its course.

Good question actually, every business must have structured governance but as the Super City is a recent establishment there probably isn't any documented trail!

The Mayors position is probably a trail blazing exercise for Brown! (Rodney Hide? did you do "your" job properly? )

    Barely elected with that turnout.

Does anybody really give a fuck about Mayoralty? All of them from London to Toronto to Auckland are wackjobs, and that's something special to say within the realm of politics.

As far as influence goes, I think at a dinner party Mayors would be at the kiddie table.
