    Speedpro mentioned solid alloy gaskets.
    Newspapers are printed on special plates made of aluminium thin enough to be cut with scissors or they always were and still are in the republic of the West Coast.
    They have a printed side and a shinny side to always good for a read for the bike archaeologists later on.
