Oh darn, what needs doing? Is it just luggage stuff?
I spent about half an hour today figuring out the best way to mount a huge bag onto the back of my ZX6R with no rack or anything. With enough cord and bungees, anything is possible.

I still gotta see how much I can pack. Got some bungee cords to strap the sleeping bag on top of the tailbag, hopefully they're long enough

If it's a luggage issue just sleep under the stars and wear the same undies all weekend...however this will see you riding at the back so we don't have to smell you haha

Dammit, looks like I won't be able to make it.

Didn't realise it went fri-mon, and I'm not sure I'd like to do the whole trip back to AKL in one go.

Definitely keen to do a shorter ride sometime, will keep an eye out

Im keen can I come? Im on a XJ600 so I'll be able to keep up. Have you thought about going the back way through kaikohe/mangamuka? Very scenic and less traffic plus would probably be easier on the newer riders lol if not sweet as im keen where r we meeting up in hamilton? The base would be a good starting point? Any possibility of getting someone to chuck my tent on the back of their bike? I can can carry the rest.

Goodluck with getting someone to take your tent, can barely pack my own tent lol. We're keeping a close eye on the weather as it looks to be shite the entire weekend. Also meeting up at Vinz0rs house. Here is the linky to the FB group https://www.facebook.com/events/1772...ent_mall_reply

Yip, weather does not look that good at all... http://www.metservice.com/towns-cities/kaitaia
If no definite plans/bookings have been made, postponing a week might be the better option.

Though his map tells a different story http://www.metvuw.com/forecast/forec...zni&noofdays=5

Yeah of course, we'll be meeting up at my place, it's out the back of Huntington near Gordonton road for a nice quick getaway. Have made rough plans as to the route but nothing set in stone so open to suggestions. Haha, good luck with the tent :P I'm riding a ZX6R with no luggage rack so space is at a premium!

Yeah, the weather forecast is looking pretty terrible at the moment, it's pissing down outside right now in Hamilton. It's rain rain rain rain all through our trip dates in Kaitaia. Might have to postpone it for when the weather is better, doing this trip without nice weather would be bloody horrible (camping!).

We'll see how it goes though. If you PM me your name I'll add you on facebook and invite you to the group.

Well, if the weather prediction does not change you can expect a mixed bag, showers, bit of ominous cloud & sunshine. It will be hot, too. We have the same weather pattern now, Metvuw says rain, I have blue sky, a bajillion degrees & the odd grey cloud scudding over. Lighting the BBQ shortly..
Rained late last night for a bit but it was dust dry again this morning. Fire by permit only already.
Been like this for two weeks. Northland is well & truly in summer mode.
    Manopausal.

If we had to postpone I doubt I'd be able to make any other day. I work 3 on 3 off but the chances of that falling on a weekend is slim However I now have 9 days off so I sure hope we can go!
