    Gasket material?

I want to make up some base gaskets, all the places I've tried so far only have the dry type gasket paper.

Anyone know a good place to get that waxy kind of stuff that you get in gasket sets?

I've always used the dry stuff with a good coating of two stroke oil or grease. Never had a issue with poor sealing. But I'm sure others will not condone this #8 wire action...

I have a selection or cereal packets and such of various thicknesses. I have also made a small pile of various thickness alloy base gaskets, down to tin foil thickness. I actually prefer alloy base gaskets as they don't compress. A thin coat of Yamabond or similar and have never had a problem. Just get a stack of various thickness alloy, bolt them all together with the thin bits in the middle and a regular gasket on the outside as a guide, and cut and file to shape. I have a high speed grinder and the carbide bits hack it out in no time.

Go see Murray at seal imports in Udy. They carry both sorts and can cut some off. Can't get much closer to you can it?

    Cheer for the Tips guys!

I'll go see Murray on the way home but I might start making some more alloy ones; I've got one alloy and one waxy gasket paper one at the moment.

I got some Jerry-made stuff from Murray.
It's real good, not cheap but uber-high quality.
Once the barrel height is final I'll probably go all alloy for consistency.

Need to buy a bunch of stuff from Thailand. I thought I had throttle bodies for Africa, then I gave them all away.
