    FUCK!!!

What kind of fucked up system requires me to answere questions on a motorcycle liscence test that has absolutely nothing to do with riding a motorcycle?

What really pisses me off thow is an hour before I took the damn test I read through the whole rode code for cars book and 30 mins before I took my motorcycle test I took the car test. Passed the car with flying colours, all 35 correct, and even on the motorcycle one I passed every one that had the remotest chance of affecting a bike. But the four that didn't have anything to do with bikes I get wrong.

Think it's time for some Halo and massive alien killing... (where did that machine gun smilie go?)

    One was:
    When driving on a motorway you must not;
    A indicate before changing lanes
B pass useing the left lane
    C pass other vehicles
    D pick up hitchhickers

I chose B for that one as that was the one that made the most sense. Apparently it's D. On the bike I'm not gonna pick up hitchhickers at all cause they probably wont know how to ride pillion. So that wasn't an obvious one to me.

The other one that pissed me off asked about the maximum distance between your car and a vehicle you are towing. Why the hell am I gonna tow a vehicle with the bike? It's 4 meters for those that don't know.

The other two I got wrong I can't remember.

    Bummer - i got 2 wrong.

but what truly amazed me is that you have to sit for 2 tests if you want to get your car and bike licences - and yup, pay 2 test fees.
But the bike test is the car test with an extra page - doesn't matter - two fees two tests - even though you've just done it.
I said don't worry about the car - and a bike licence is all I got.

I always thought it was illegal to pass on the left anywhere, be it open road, passing lanes or motorways.. I do on the bike when you get those who insist on driving at 95 in the right lane but never in a car.

Yes, some questions can be very ambiquous.
I got caught out by one during my scratch test. Years ago so forgot question but it was very doh when I saw the cross.

You'll notice that 2 answers are definitely wrong. One is right and one looks right. It can be very tough figuring which is right and almost right.

Anyway, have a look in the public library and check out the Road code for Motorcyclist. It only has relevant information and obviously lots will be the same for a car because we share many of the same road rules.

Did you purchase test scratch tests?

Soooo......indicating before changing lanes didn't seem the most obvious? The test is actually regarding motorcycling and general road rules which if you don't know, you shouldn't be in charge of any vehicle.

    4 wrong's still a pass though isn't it?

When I went for my licence in 1983 I nearly got stumped by one question out of the blue:

What is the main criterion which must be observed before one can tow a motorcycle?

Of course, being 17 I'd never even heard of someone towing a motorcycle so I said

"Well, I guess it must be that it won't go by itself?"

which turned out to be the right answer.

    Go figure.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Nah only had enough for the tests. $123.80 total. gonna be another $30 somethin to retest.

Also the library here didn't have a current Road code for motorcyclist but don't really need it anyway. I know those answeres it's the ones about cages that give me the slip.

Surely you are not blaming them for getting the wrong type of book...? There are two road codes - one specialist car and one specialist motorbike.

Might help to look around properly next time.
