42PSI. Had done a run no more than 5 mins prior which lead me to believe that the brake fluid may have boiled (expert advice needed). Tyre should have been warmish, its not worn either

42 psi is about 10 psi higher than I would have had it...

I had a look at my weekend runs on the footage and was leaving the line and not dropping under 7k. Managed to get into the 9s just.

Was going to suggest launching @ 10000............ but didn't want the next vid to be track / sky / track and another ooops. Ran 10.4s on my old GSXR 1100M back in the day. A good drag racer should be able to get a pretty stock Busa or ZX12 into the high 9s.

On the subject of brake fade on a Gen1 Busa, I have managed 44's around Ruapuna on mine (just for shits and giggles) and it was good for about 4 laps before brakes were totally gone and I went motorcrossing- the occasional hard stop won't give you fade, that will only come with multiple hard stops in short order. (had braided lines not the OEM lines)

Just the once, wouldn't do it again, too f#^&king hard work and murders perfectly good road tyres, My race bikes are much more obliging (and a damn sight faster!)

Nah mate, tried launching at 8k earlier in the day and didn't like it when the wheel came up and the bike started drift towards the wall slightly causing a brown stain in the back of the pants. Hence why I took it easy for the rest of the day, wouldn't want to crash the bike or anything, oh wait....

That's a bit hash Crasher he's only a Dorklander we all know they can't ride as they spend all their time on the great parking lot that is Auks motorway system , you should have been on here telling him he needs a new Bussa and you'll have a deal of a life time for him.

Surprised no one tried to sell me one the moment I came back on the trailer. I believe Tony Grays gold busa was quicker than quite a few of the ZX14's anyway. That thing with the extended swinger and the straight through pipes was nuts though, forgot the name.

how old is the fluid? If Dot 4 then anything over 12 months and you will have enough water in it to boil when applying brakes hard in quick succession.
The water expands with heat and this can mean your leaver is in a different place so brakes will come on slightly earlier than you expect.... might have been what happened?

I was going to suggest a similar thing. During rapid heat up under heaving braking any moisture in there would effectively explode into steam locking the brake.
Tyre pressure just didn't help.

The problem you have is that you are on a Hayabusa, which is less a motorcycle and more a spa pool with two wheels and a seat.
But glad you are OK, never good to have a tumble.
At least it didn't land on you.
