According to C1KC organisers when I reported back in, not one of the riders on C1KC. News reported it as a gang member just before...but not good either way.

Michael Laws just says what he is thinking at the time. Maybe he shouldn,t but I couldn,t help a moment of thinking along those lines too when I heard it was a bike gang involved. I have seen the way they can hog the centre line and overtaking is done at any time with the whole group going. In my experience, this is the norm, not just now and then. Sooner or later there is going to be contact.
Not in any way saying that this is what happened here of course.

5km east of Fitzgerald Glade. There is a stretch of road there that is sort of straight but not! with slight variances off straight and changing elevation that can make you think its good to pass but as soon as you pull out cars appear from dips in the road. Not saying anything about who is at fault but it is a stretch of road that I am happy to just follow the traffic...........

It was the Greasy Dogs from Mt Maunganui, one dead, one helicoptered to Waikato hospital, two taken by ambulance.

That's a deceptive piece of road, as Corse1 said. Cars do suddenly appear out of the dips. Police said a car travelling the other way hit a number of motorcyclists and there was a Daewoo hatch there with damage to at least two side doors. Side door damage make me think of a car coming out of a driveway or side road.

Must be the change in season. Heaps of Harleys out in BOP yesterday, general standard of riding was abysmal. Some of these guys have a death wish.
Don't know what happened in this instance but I understand they were part of a poker run.
    Yesterday I witnessed the following

A rider passing a line of moving cars while opposing traffic was passing both parties.
Massed riders stopped at traffic lights on the wrong side of the road
Riders taking off from a red light around a blind corner
Massed riders passing traffic on double yellow lines
Passed what I assume were the ' greasys ' on the Kaimais in the early evening. The lesson had not been learnt

    Wank stains
