What tyres do I put on my Hayabusa?

I have 2001 Suzuki Huyabusa i am just a comuter i bought the bike with the rear tyre 180/55 Z17 i have since found out it wrong tyre fitted. According to specs should be a 190/50 Z17 two shops have different profile sizes sizes.190/55 Z17 or 190/50 Z17 can some one what they found out the best.

If you're commuting mainly, I'd suggest Metzeler Z8 or Michelin Pilot Road 2 or 3. PR2 for mileage or PR3 for extra grip.

And yeah, 190/50 is the original rear tyre size for your bike, even though a 190/55 will work as well.

Just give it a minute, someone will suggest a Shinko

seeing as you're commuting on it...

190/55 will give better turn in. For commuting 190/50 will be fine.

Whats wrong with a Shinko ... I run them front & rear on the Gixxer so far so good ...

Avon Road Runner F2 front and Avon Road Runner R2 rear. Race proven. Not sure if they do your size though.

The best tyres you can afford. The correct size, that the bike came on. Manufacturers do this for a reason.

And generally stick to a "name" brand tyre. IE: Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli, Dunlop etc. They spend a shite load of money on R & D.

So use it.

Do not run Avon's, Shinko or Continental if you ever ride with "attitude"!

If you are going to commute, and occasionally have a fang, try Bridgestone 023's, I have run Bt016's and 003Rs on my Busa over a number of years, the 023's are currently on test on my Busa and so far, at 2000 kms, am impressed, they do not have the ultimate grip levels of a sport tyre, but your average road rider does not have the control to exploit a flat out sport tyre anyway.

These have been somewhat of a suprise as I did not have overly high expectation, fitted them as I am tyred........ of wearing out two fronts to a rear on softer tyres, on the best tight twisty stuff in NZ and getting short mileage, my tyre budget is for racing not the bloody road!

These tyres support the Busa quite well and are a good match.

Whats wrong with Continental?? I'm shoed with Conti Attack II's and haven't had a problem. The back will drift out on the rare occasion during hard cornering but I put that down to simple physics - just interested in your feedback is all .........

Unreliable grip. But the number of variables at play that will directly affect how well a tyre works is enormous: tyre pressure, spring rate, settings, rider technique ect ect.

Different riders have differing takes on "hard cornering", for the majority of road riders most "sport" tyres are at least....... ok

you are a nob end, you should not be allowed near a busa let alone ride one if you are that stooped as to not know what tyre to put on you busa. By a GN250 the streets and public will be much more safer.

Have not had a problem with Shinko's yet ... middle of summer they stuck like shit to a blanket ... have had the bike right over both side & did not feel any loss of traction ( I may have been lucky )

I was also under the impression that they have dragged themselves back from the shitty name they once had
