The weather couldn't make up it's mind. Me and small boy had a good time though. He dropped 3-4 seconds off his times so reasonably happy. He looks to have gotten over his little off at the 2hr meeting. Thanks again to Gary for letting us use his MB. Thanks to the organisers as well.

Actually I prefer Taumarunui. That sweeper is just intoxicating. Talking of which I feel a little intoxicated. But well keen to race new year.

Caleb Adlam 4th in both races (bugger mugged me on the last lap of both races), me 5th, Scott 6th. Rick had the fastest race lap of the weekend.
The weekend was a success as my drag racer managed to out run Richban up the straight on more than one occasion, seems a 60kg weight diff is an advantage in a straight line

Hi all first race Rich got second I got third with the fastest lap of that race (I put that in to make myself feel better). Good racing though. Rich did take to the grass for the sprint to the line.
I had some problems with my bike. The new spark plug snapped in half and poped out on the first lap of the day. I put another plug in but forgot to turn the petrol no again so ran out on the trial lap. I thought it was all over for that bike. The 50 got a bit of a work out. I thought I would check the plug on the FXRS again to notice the petrol was off. Turned it on and went out for qualifying. Felt weird after the 50. Got 3rd on the grid. Top 5 were real close in time. First race OK. second race I over shifted and it locked in 3rd. Pulled in and took the engine out to fix it. I see my over shift is still in the old crank cases. Got the bike going as it started to rain. on with the wets for both bikes. Out to do the third race. I thought the rainbow were petrol although after I went through it and fell off it was confirmed it was oil. Bummer. the rest of racing called off. Drove home to getting a ticket on the way. Bugger.
Hope everyone else got home OK.
    Good fun.

    More importantly

A Big Thanks to Steve and the AMCC team, for all your hard work.
And the Tokoroa Kart Club for the continued support and access to the facility.

Another great event; this series is so much fun on and off the track.

On the racing side of things, personally I had a great day battling it out with Chris C at the back end of a grade; a little bit of paint swapping and tire rubbing made for a great day (one a piece).
Really good after sorting out battery issues (and hour finding my contact lens in the long grass)'on Saturday.

    #############################################
Final rules were made late Saturday night on the Regional Challenge.
Top two from A grade and Top one from B grade (total combined points).

Unofficial Regional Challenge Results (my rough calculations; I'm sure I'll be corrected).

    Mighty Manawatu - only just
    Wellington
    Auckland
    Bay of Plenty

Including the b grade results as well will make it interesting.
So put some pressure on your local b graders to come to the events and get involved, they will have a ball.

    Good Times

Thats to Steve and the AMCC peeps.

    Fantastic effort.

I had a great time. On saturday I was quite happy scrap back into the 42 second laps. Just! By sunday though I had left half a second at the bottom of a Tuatra bottle or 3. Never mind. Race one was a classic. Regan got the start (what a surprise, NOT). I managed to hold out Andrew in turn one then away we went. Little bit of a rub here and there. I just could not line a good move up on regan and hope to hold out andrew. On the run to the line I jumped the curb and straight lined the grass. Almost getting there. It would not have counted but it was a bit of fun.

I won't talk about race 2. You can watch it for yourself. I am the king of starts. You know this I am sure.

Yes thanks to Steve and his team. Next time I will try not to pull any dirty big wheel stands. Sorry about that. I see my exit at 3.08. Off to wip out the motor!

Not sure Ken knows what happened to his bike either. I spoke to him as he had taken the clutch cable off to give to Rick (who had borrowed Brian's one by then) and Ken said he had pulled in going okay, but she just wouldn't start next time round. Henk thought electrical gremlin, but guess we'll hear from Ken as to what.

I heard it was the stator on Kens bike.
Mine has now had the failed home bodge job on the starter motor plug that ended everyone's day early replaced with a 30mm frost plug.
Will test at Mt Welly next week before heading to Taumarunui.
