    Oil Change......

I’ve been thinking and that’s not necessarily a good thing but here goes…

Its Oil Change time and since we don’t do engine flushes before hand (I understand it’s because if the clutch plates etc)

I’m about to put $60.00 odd dollars of Oil and Filter in my bike I thought what about if I

Option A : Put some cheap arse supermarket oil 15 w 40 in the bike with the old filter in place ,get it all up to temp and dump it, only be about $10.00 and properly cheaper than a flush anyway. And the engine and oil cooler would be that much cleaner…then put the good stuff in.

Option B: Take the filter out too and put the cheap oil in…and then as above…Would it do damage without a filter for 5 min?

Option C: Stop thinking and just change the fucking Oil!

Quite a few years ago I purchased a bottle of engine oil flush from Motomail.. I can only assume their product is safe for clutch plates, as 30 thou kms later the clutch plates still work as they should.

there are some motorbike specific flushes out there, most bike shops will have some. Op A is a good alternative, and some people would rather do that, then buy engine flush. But make sure it's cheap bike oil, not cheap car oil, else you'll bugger the clutch etc
