Pants that you can put on while wearing shoes or boots?

    Hi,
Does anyone know of any motorcycle/scooter over-pants that you can put on while wearing shoes. All the ones I've looked at so far have mesh liners that catch the shoes, and are far too narrow to allow the shoe to pass through to the bottom. I'm thinking perhaps some pants will have a zipper all the way down the side to open the pants leg up to allow a shoe to pass through more easily.

I'm looking for textile, not leather, and decent armour in knees and hips, otherwise nothing fancy. In general, I'd like to have some protective pants that are quick to pull on and off over normal causal pants, with a minimum of fuss. Does such a product exist?

If so, is there any place in Wellington where I could try such pants on?

Thanks in advance for any advice

They do exist. I've seen them advertised online, they're exactly like all the other textile pants except the zips run all the way up the thigh rather than just the ankle.

However I've been looking for them in Wellington bike shops for months with no luck. So let me know if you find some.

Most adventure pants are designed to deal with adventure boots and will probably slip over shoes a bit easier. Mine do.

Motomail have the 'Sand' pants on clearance at the moment. Good price. Can come in black too if you like

    These are them:

I've got some. Very user friendly but not sure how well they'd hold up in a crash. Knee but no hip armour. I wear a belt with them (there are loops) since I can pop the waist clips just by breathing out.

Hi I have a pair of Feildsheer pants listed on Trademe 36" waist large zips down the sides ,lined on the inside. Easy to slip on over normal clothes . Good protection but no armour in knees or hips .$50 worth a look if they are Your size.

I ended up getting some Joe Rocket Ballistic 7.0 pants:
    http://joerocket.com/catalog/index.c...Ballistic_7.0_[Textile]

I ordered them off eBay and just got them. They fit great and do everything I wanted. Shame no one local had them.

    Heavy duty nylon
Long side zips for easy pull-on wearing boots
    Water-proof
    Armoured knees and hip

A bonus is that the back zip that comes with the matching other side of the zip to sew into jackets that don't have a zip attachment

The only thing lacking is that they don't have any reflective material on them for better night-time visibility. I plan on sewing some on myself, provided I can find a needle that is sharp enough to punch through the nylon - lol

I know a bit late...but...if you put a plastic carrier bag over you boots they 1) slide through the over trousers easier. 2) stop all the dirt from the boots going inside the trousers.

I managed to use one of these on another pair of pants that were lacking a zip (had to fudge it all a bit to get it to work cos it was kind of backwards) which makes me wonder if jackets come with the corresponding pants zip, in which case I probably already had some...somewhere.

Yeah poking holes in it may not help with the waterproofing aye.

A mate of mine wears something called xkulcha overpants easy overs or something of the sort. It zips all the way up the sides, looks a bit like a stripper.
