Why is it so hard to find race schedule information? - A spectator's perspective

I've started threads like this multiple times in the past on the same topic. It seems for most NZ motorcycling events that the only way you can find out a schedule of what classes are racing and what time events are supposed to start is by actually competing in them.

Right at this moment, no matter how much googling I do, I cannot find a start time for the Suzuki Series racing at HD tomorrow. Whats on and when?

How is Joe Public expected to find this information? By personally knowing a racer?

Who are they going to sell programmes to when no-one turns up?

It's pretty basic information and not going to impact the sale of a programme.

    Thanks.

Out of curiosity I just did a quick Google....find the Hampton Downs site, events, then to the HD ticketing site which allows me to buy a $20 ticket without even knowing what time the event runs from and to; although it does tell me how exciting things will be

You have to actually get to the third page of the competitor entry form to get it. Which is just crap. Nothing has improved in this regard in the last 10 years.

I've been trackside for close to a decade now. Don't really care what the next class is, it's all just bikes on track init?

The only thing that varies is how they fall off (or how many at once) or how they break down...

On the Vic Club website. Well, our version of them are. Not a National class so they aren't in the rule book. Actually, there is no rule book technically.

By reading this thread I have found the series starts today ! I believe it's a 3 round series, Hampton, Manfeild and one other ?
No advertising in Auckland ? Nothing for sure in Wgton that I have heard.
Are spectators expected for this series or is it for riders and hangers on ?

No, Road Racing is on the rise for sure ! The Summer of racing is starting today.

Then will the organisers complain because not enough paying punters turn up and they lose money? Classic.
    Cheers

    .
That would be on Boxing Day at Wanganui!

    http://www.cemeterycircuit.co.nz/

So that sort of proves people rely too much on Google... which is apparently RUBBISH!
The ruddy great Bill Board on SH1 outside Ohakea is a pretty great advertising board..... Along with others.
Sign up for the News Letter and you will be kept informed. Then you can e-mail that to your friends and family.

    Simple really.....

In the old days I'm pretty sure we used to talk to each other or ring them on the phone.....

Ta , thought it may be Toepo ?

But yes, the message isn't being sent out.
At least Spyda pushes Boxing day on KB.
Not that I'm a potential spectator anway. But in the interests of new blood coming in, people must know where and when.

As a business you must advertise, there is no future if you rely on the racers and their mates.

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..
