I sense a common theme in your choice of motorcycle.

Helped a mate mock up a double engined bike, two
norton engines super charged, sort of part welded
the frame, first and last time it was fired up was fun
we had belts and shit flying all over the place.
I think the frame is still in his back yard somewhere
(last time i saw it was holding up a garden bag)

    Hi
I wish more people gave shit like that a go.
My RD400 Drag bike was all done by myself just by tacking shit together and seeing if it looked right. At first I was real worried about my welding and the alignment of the frame. But once I had the original frame stripped down and saw how bad Yamaha's welding and alignment were.Well if the frame ran straight originally then nothing I was doing would make it worst.
Hardest thing was not having a second pair of hands to hold stuff in place.
So I reckon have ago at your dream project.Don't just "buy it off the shelf" and don't let anyone say "you cant do that..you need a professional"

To get my H1 running true i went through 5 frames
they were all cracked under the front engine mounts
(ask eric) when they are cracked there its flexy flyer mode
one cracked when i was putting the bracing in
on one the swingarm mount came off as well
Its pretty good now (for and H1)
If you want fun go from a ZX10R to an H1
    bloody good fun

By f@#k this this thing was the fastest and most scariest thing ive ever ridden...hence the name crash test dummie...a road side gum tree was the death of that thing and near death of me

Have you got an update on times with the new machine?

I used to dragrace a Yamaha MX400B at Meremere in 1980-81 and got a best time of 12.9 at 102 mph on pump gas fully street legal..........silly me I could have gone for a national record but never though of it at the time!!!! I rode it there and back as well from Auckland. Average times were 13.3 at 98-99 with keeping the front down the hard part. Great cheap fun. Those were the days when CBX's were new and doing 11.6 in clouds of tyre smoke and ratty H2's were doing mid to high 12's.

Well fuck me with a fish fork!!! So that stinky old H2 that dumb bastard had the gaul to make is actually remembered by people, just goes to show that you guys need to get a life!!!!!!!! Be that as it may it's a weird sensation to hear from someone that 'ol Sophie is actually being discussed, albeit in a round a bout way, on the net...
Mind you it comes at a bit of a shock to know that Max hasn't managed to kill himself or been killed by that fucking crow of his and Richard is still persisting away with the RD, some things I guess never change unless of course someone had the sense to shoot the crow....

I know back in the day that people use to use tz750 engines and bolt 2 together in sprint cars at Western springs

go for a twin 1500cc engined rd lol
Buckleys use to run the tz750x2 sprint car
    an inline 8 2smoker
am guessing it was on dope as well knowing them

    Hello, mate,
I have raced against one of the fastest two stokes over here - have a look at www.jaderacing.com - he's now gone pro-stock with a four stroke - much easier on the ears!
Hope to catch a meeting at Meremere when I am home on holiday in November.
