Gobsmacked, me. But delighted to hear such great news, you two.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I'm so tickled for the loveliest couple I've had the good fortune to meet via KB & my OC visits.

You are such open, sharing folk of your time & home with the various KB riff raff.

After a lifetime of hard work from you both, this is your time. We know Coopers Beach will be as much enriched by your involvement in the community as you will thrive in it's beautiful environment.

So how did puss take the news?

    ... you lucky lucky bastards

PS Anne, I have discovered a new drink mix

    That's not a kayak, it's a sit-on-top*. Be great for fishing though.

It really did seem like a natural fit for us. The location is out of this world beautiful, I am a beach baby, nothing, but nothing beats bare feet on the beach. I had to laugh when the owner said it was busy and we would have to work hard during the season. Well I am looking forward to that sort of hard work given the job I currently do. Drink mix eh?

It is a stunning move and a great opportunity to take up!

I hope you both have a fabulous time up there. Semi-retirement already??

    So it seems

Only damper for me personally is the way my boss is behaving. Yesterday grumpy and very unhappy, today it is simply ignore me all together, not even say goodmorning when I saw him first thing. I have seen the business manager and warned him I will simply walk if he does not pull his head in

Ignore it, for they are just jealous. Soon you will be gone and it won't matter then, so it shouldn't matter now.

All the best on your new adventures...fantastic shit!

Sorry but I thought of the theme song to Sunburn 1979 was apt (I actually watched this at cinema...Farah was so hot to a teenage boy).

Opening line: Up in the morning and it's down to the beach....not sure about the chorus....You gotta get a little, get a little every day

Perhaps they would prefer to simply pay out your notification period and have you out of there faster? Might be a suggestion to them if said boss is having his period?

Re Kayaks. An acquaintance here in the Bay rents them out on the beach & always seems to have a few up for sale. The shack across the road from Alfresco's. He's Dutch so don't expect a massive bargain. Used to be a very keen biker, too.
Ewes no where me is if you want me to ask.

As posted above I'm jaw dropped, too. Great move, though. Mega even.

Mint, I am after a double, probably need to buy seats/wheels? interested to know the $'s he may ask...(is his name Roel?)
Yeah the thought of all has almost sunk all the way in Mark... we first spoke about the possibility of what we are doing when Graeme & Irene left but it wasn't a happening thing, the owner had already employed someone before we emailed her about it. We spoke to Nari about it at Labour weekend and again (Mark Waters also) when we were up there in Nov.. Nari was going to resign feb/march next year which would have been the better scenario. But we'll take it either way, it's just going to happen several weeks earlier.

Period? I think he has entered full blown menopause FFS! I am required to give 3 weeks notice. That makes my last day at "work" the 6th January. We close down on Dec 24th and reopen Jan 6th. I can appreciate the crap timing and everything, so I offered to go back and work a couple of weeks in January to help him out, but that wont be a happening thing the way things are going. I don't want to leave on bad terms, but not one little word did he speak to me today, infact at one stage he had to walk past me and he grunted in annoyance if you please. I have worked too hard and done so much for the company to be treated like that because I am leaving and did not give him a few months notice (he told me I should have done that on Monday, and then I should tell our new boss we cant start for another month or so until he replaces me). I will work out the rest of the year, until close down and then leave. Sad fucker LOL!
