Mind blowing place to live if you have the merest hint of outdoors about you. I used to get home to my batch after work & go boogie boarding at mid night, the worse for wear. Biggest thing was paranoia,,, "did something just bump me?"
By February there should be algae in the water that fluoresce when you swim through them, again, a great thing to do the worse for wear with a mask & snorkel, it's like a scene from starwars, lights bursting before your eyes.
Good luck to your son, it's a tough job to get good at.

Oh, shagging guests is a no no. Nothing worse than having your underpants & shirt handed in at reception the next morning.
No waitresses either, naughty. Wait until they hand in there notice....

No. Just the opposite, just means anybody else would cause no end of trouble.

I did two years in the kitchens on Hi De Hi holiday parks. Shagging guests was the only thing that got us through the season - it was the best way to get clean towels.

So, the goal posts got moved!

After emails and phone calls, a lengthy discussion, an offer of employment for $$ that were acceptable, being given an employment contract to add anything we wanted included in it and arrangements to meet the following weekend to sign everything off we made a commitment to change our lives.
I quit my job, Mark closed down his flooring business and we put our house on the market.

    Exciting times.

That was until we re-met the owner of the San Marino the following weekend. She had picked up the goal posts and moved them to a place we were not prepared to go. Long story short, there was no longer a management job available, we could however purchase the lease from her. Not really an option but we thought to have a look at the books to see if there was any money to be made, she could not give us them until Jan 6th, she was leaving on Jan 8th so we would have had 2 days to carry out any form of due diligence.

Lots of things were said in an effort to convince us to take the lease, none of which she could substantiate, we should just trust her?

Quite gutting to be fair. However, quite liberating as well. We had made the decision to make changes, nothing changes there, just the location will be different. We are currently unemployed beach bums, who are actively seeking a job in a motel/holiday park location somewhere in NZ. North is preferred, but we have applied in Kapiti, Taranaki and Auckland at this stage.

Once the house sells and if we are still beach bums we will be buying a camper bus and travelling around hunting work. Chur.

Sounds like a bit of luck to me, anyone who behaves like that wrt even a verbal agreement wouldn't scruple to neglect to pay you when the inevitable light occupancy week occurred.

As a matter of interest what were her reasons for not producing the accounts?

Goodonyer! Never be that trusting! We'd love to do the same, but don't want to sell up to do it, just get the camper and go see NZ.

God job I didn't book in for Easter. I may have some decisions of my own to make soon, perhaps not as life changing as yours, but scary and liberating at the same time when I look at where things are going, if I choose to do nothing.

My granddaughter is now 8 weeks old and so happy and cheerful. That, riding bikes, and cuddles with the missus are what's keeping me going.

Wishing you more success in the weeks ahead.
