Chill dude. Everyone starts somewhere. At 13 he can't get a licence so BMX is the best he can do. Don't rain on the kid's parade, in a couple of years he'll be ready for a motorbike, and he'll have some good off road (and hopefully road) skills to start with.

At 13 he can get a race licence and race a bucket or 150 though

I think I know why you got confused!!!! Yes, Paul's eldest son is called Dylan (not Dillon!!) and he is 25 years old, not 13. He is vfrboy (he has ridden off road bikes for years) and he posted up about Bruce's (Oldfarts) tragic death and talking to him at out BBQs. It would be nice if you PMed b4 posting up something that you are not sure about as it can hurt!!

Riding a treadly on the roads I reckon is very good experience for a beginner. The people I've seen come here as newbies who have push bike experience haven't crashed. Which is more than can be said for some. If I could ride a BMX I'd be pretty proud of it too.

Thnx Ixion - yep, started Moto X when I was 8, had to stop coz Dad wanted a road bike, coz I was kicking his arse on the track - and I break easy - weak bone stuff...started on KTM 65, went to KX65, then to YZ80...my big bro and little sister were also racers. I got heaps of 3rds and a 1st.
