Don't get me wrong I don't ride that fast on the road. Only the track.

What am I doing about it? Having time off with my family. If I come across him while working and he's doing naughty things we'll meet professionally.

I'm pondering having a word with him though. Bit silly those speeds.

But wasn't it alright though for Aunty Helen doing the same through/near your patch to get to a rugby game on time...

Like any internet debate this is all going sideways, the original post was about speed, not where and for most people here it will have been at a track day like myself or some other sanctioned event.
Its not a competition, just a discussion...

I thought of this sentence of yours today Brett, when some clown decided to wheelie whilst he was coming toward me on Whatawhata straight. Especially when I saw the bike yaw off centre a little...

I don't fancy getting my head knocked off by some clown's out of control motorcycle, nor even getting his blood (or my own) all over my bike. I hate having to clean blood off me bike. Even my grand-daughter won't help wash off blood...

Funnily enough I once managed to get my blue ninja (ZX9R C1)to a calculated 170....mph Worked out the speed from the revs and the final gearing. Couldn't read the speedo as I smashed it in a highside when I was going slow on the straight

Had the RSVR to an indicated 245kmh at Puke, but it was geared for the streets and not top speed at the track. Would have been faster if I had pootled through Castrol and waited till upright before opening the throttle.

I never used to look much at the speedo until recently, however my speedo seems to stick at and indicated 107 kmh....lucky that the speedo indicates 7% more than actual

Agreed. But the OP did state 2xx on the road; not in his question, but in his own answer to it.

This is the reason Jap cars and bikes had speedos that topped out at 180km/h. Yes their vehicles were also restricted to this but the domestic market model had the lower speedo to not encourage drivers to go faster than that.

Oh and for the record 299km/h indicated. 8% speedo error (from GPS tests).

    Yesterday

Did South Auckland to Thames in 15 mins averaging 240kph. However time does to include taxi, engine run up or pre take off checks!

    Doesn't count does it?

All of the bikes and cars I've had that are capable of 180kph+ speeds have had these speedo's.
Actually 2 weren't cabable of 170 kph but they still went well off the clock on the speedo.

Bloody annoying, if you wind really wind them up they sometimes stick 'off the clock' My VFR has had it stuck there for half a day.

Aye? So Did everyone on the road just pull over to give you a way so that you could do 240kph

You seem to be completely obsessed with this question of speed, you posted the exact same question on MV.net
