Socialist refers to how the means of production are owned and controlled. It is an economic term. Left wing and right wing normally pertain to sociological opinions. They are non-economic. Remember, the Nazi Fascist party's offiical name was the National *SOCIALIST* party. They were right wing socialists. A monarchist socialist is perfectly possible. God save King Francis (/me is not only a monarchist but a Jacobite to boot) ; and hurrah for the people's socialist revolution.
Actually, the fiscal policies of Hitler's National Socialist German Workers' Party were predominently "Centrist" - certainly a lot less "Right Wing" than most of Britain and America's goverments over the years. The Nazis were also heavily Authoritarian (State Control focus) which is a different scale altogether independant of fiscal "Left" and "Right" (e.g. The US is predominently Authoritarian Right, pre-Glasnost Russia was Authoritarian Left and Hitler was Authoritarian Centre.)
The polar opposite of Authoritarian is "Libertarian" - little or no State control over people's lives. I tend to Libertarian Left - think in terms of the Dalai Lama - though not extreme in either case (I think in certain areas there should be state control but not in others.)
Motorbike Camping for the win!
