The worst driving I've ever seen

I went for a ride up SH75 today, and just before hilltop I came across a line of slow moving vehicles, with a minivan in front that was driving very slowly holding up traffic. I then overtook a few vehicles to get closer to the minivan, and every single (blind) right hand corner it would be on the wrong side of the road. I followed it for a while until it turned off into a windy side road, and it did exactly the same thing. There was a vehicle coming the other way, which had to take evasive action to avoid a crash. It was a very, very close call. After that, the minivan driver did the same thing all over again. I stopped and called *555 and gave them the vehicle details. They suggested I go and fill out a bad driver form on the NZ Police website, but the website says to fill it out if I don't want the driver charged, or go to a police station to make a formal statement if I want the driver charged. I don't have any video footage or pics of this vehicle, so there's no evidence as such. Am I wasting my time, or should I go to a police station and make a formal complaint? Usually I don't take bad driving this seriously, but this is nothing short of attempted murder and I want to see this person get fucked over to the full extent of the law. Not that the law is going to do much, but hopefully it's better than nothing.

what is likely to happen as a result of your efforts is that the owner of the vehicle will get sent a 'warning' letter to tell them that someone complained about their driving, and that in the future they need to be more careful.

For them to be charged easily, after you made a statement, they would need to admit to it right away (and how many people are going to do that?)
If they deny it, a charge would require court and all that shit, which they probably 'dont have the time for' unless there is video footage / multiple complaints etc etc.

If enough people have complained about it, the police will do something about it. Should of followed the fucker home, so you can use their house as target practice.

IMHO, this is never going to see a summons or traffic offence notice being issued based on the evidence available. I reckon there's a chance that a formal complaint may result in a friendly visit from a community cuntstable or some other bottom-feeder to the registered owner, which is slightly more than the automated letter. I wouldn't bother.

Good for you It's not a hard decision, you did what your conscience told you at the time.

What you described is something I face almost daily on the Coromandel and was fortunate to be in a car last year when some clown repeatedly did it in front of me and my wife had her camera. Photos and what happened here: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ing-compulsory.

...I made sure someone lost their licence for nearly killing a heap of others in a blind overtaking situation...I have no idea to this day , how three separate vehicles, mine a truck, all chose different ways out of a situation and got away with it...an extension of that same road...I got a visit from a cop, thanking me for removing a danger from the road...fuck the clowns, get them gone...

Pointless. If you didn't burn them at the time, then there will be no repercussions.
