I followed it for a while until it turned off into a windy side road, and it did exactly the same thing. There was a vehicle coming the other way, which had to take evasive action to avoid a crash. It was a very, very close call. After that, the minivan driver did the same thing all over again. I stopped and called *555 and gave them the vehicle details. They suggested I go and fill out a bad driver form on the NZ Police website, but the website says to fill it out if I don't want the driver charged, or go to a police station to make a formal statement if I want the driver charged. I don't have any video footage or pics of this vehicle, so there's no evidence as such. Am I wasting my time, or should I go to a police station and make a formal complaint? Usually I don't take bad driving this seriously, but this is nothing short of attempted murder and I want to see this person get fucked over to the full extent of the law. Not that the law is going to do much, but hopefully it's better than nothing.
