    Kevin McCleary RIP

Kevin McCleary, a quiet but capable worker for NZ bike racing, has died in Christchurch. A former president of MNZ, NZ 125 champion, Marlboro Series organiser, and proprietor of McCleary Motors, Kevin's rather arid sense of humour masked a strong and passionate man who did so much for racers visiting Christchurch over many years and will be fondly remembered by many. A good man.

He will be sadly missed. For the last few years while he was ill, the lack of an old hand who could and did offer advice on dealing with MNZ has been marked.
He was one of the people who were a steadying influence on the sport - and the governing body.

    RIP Kevin.

I actually knew this man many years ago - he and his brother and his father as well. All three were very involved in racing back then and put a huge effort into the sport.

RIP Kevin. Best wishes to family and friends.
