    Different colour headlight bulbs

Is it legal to have a bike with both a cool white bulb in one headlight, and a warm white bulb in the other? The headlights do look noticeably different to one another, although the wattage is the same. They're both H4 bulbs.

Sounds like you need to find other stuff to worry about, or shut yourself in the shed to avoid breaking laws we never knew existed.
It is, however, legal to shoot an arrow into the back of a Welshman running away from you inside Chester's city walls.

I don't want to give the cops any more reason to pull me over, hence the question.

Hi and low beam, or two low beams? I believe there is mention in the VIRM they should be equal colour and intensity when the same light etc.

If the cops in shakytown pull you over for not having lights exactly the same shade of white ,then maybe its time for another earthquake to give them something better to do

They're both a different colour for high beam and low beam, as the cool white bulb has blue glass around it.

So you have 4 bulbs, 2 for low and 2 for high? My point was that bulbs in low beam should be the same, bulbs in high beam should be the same, and I don't believe you need matching bulbs between high and low beam. Many bikes have different bulb types between high and low.

I have 2 headlight bulbs in total, 1 in each headlight. Each bulb is a standard H4 that does both high beam and low beam.

Ah, I see. You can try getting it passed, but I wouldn't be surprised if you were picked up. Re-inspection at the likes of VTNZ etc are free within a certain period of time.

Both bulbs do have to be the same colour.

Just went for a WOF today and they passed it. It wasn't a dodgy WOF place either, this place does legit green sticker removals too.
