Turned up to see a Ducati for sale the other day ... bought my helmet & boots if he'd let me ride it but wasn't sure how he'd feel about that. Guy said "take her for a spin" and "no need for your ID you look OK" when I went to get my licence out.
I didn't realise there were such trusting decent people still around. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
No punchline - I didn't drop it or steel it (but I did sort of feel as though I should have done ....)
Motorcycle songlist:
Best blast soundtrack:Born to be wild (Steppenwolf)
Best sunny ride: Runnin' down a dream (Tom Petty)
Don't want to hear ...: Slip, slidin' away, Caught by the Fuzz or Bam Thwok!(Paul Simon/Supergrass/The Pixies)
These were off the menu "customs" went for 40+ k depending on the options. The two I have seen in person were $50k+.
Not my cup of tea but certainly to the right buyer more than $5 and a bag of chips.
Old herald article about the builders. http://m.nzherald.co.nz/motoring/new...ectid=10615237Sent via tapatalk.. Each Road Rage takes over 300 hours from design to finish. To buy this one? "$135,000 would own it - but it owes us more than that."
Once upon a time in a west Auckland 16 years ago while on a hiatus from riding a rather shiny bike turned up at a bar I was working at. Had a bit of a natter with the owner... he seemed real keen for me to take it for a spin.
Having not been riding for a few years I was kind of tempted right up until he told me how much he paid.
He told me he paid $56k... after "near twisting their arm off to get a good deal"...
Didn't seem like the sort of dude I wanted to negotiate with let alone owe a new custom bike to.
