Dunno about it being a bargain... says on the auction is has almost 110,000km on the clock and a blown left piston. It probably needs to bored to the next size over, and the crank would quite likely need to be rebuilt. Repairing all that alone would add up to almost $1,500.

So add $500 for the bike, $450 for registration/warrant and bits here and there for all the other crap like crank seals, gaskets, a battery, tyres, brake pads etc... and it doesn't work out to be a very good deal, considering it's got an RZ250 engine it in anyway. IMO $500 is an optimistic sale on that bike, it could potentially be rubbish.

Good for parts though, and if you had the tools and know how to bore it yourself and rebuild the crank, it would be a good buy...

If it's been on since 2008, then assuming it really is a 1999 model, $9500 is not too bad for a 9 year old sports bike.

Actually it is a bit expensive. I bought a 6 year old 1000 for $6000 back in 2007. 30,000 km.

Two attempts was enough have since decided to find something tidier if I buy one, have a mate keeping an eye out in Japan for one. Japan was the only market they were made for as I understand.
