WOW To be fair I have no idea if this is a realistic price, it's just shit loads for a motorcycle! https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/mot...1417453990.htm

    Should be $20K tops.

Side note - it's a old school heck of a reach to the clip-ons.
That price does include BST. (BMW suckers tax)

I'm no expert, but is that kinda budget front susp for a $23k bike?

They were a cynical attempt to cash in but are really low spec.
Hey!! I had one for years and years and was very happy on it and... and...

    ...fuck it, you're right.

I got rid of mine about three weeks after I bought the 900ss and don't miss it a bit.

The cheapest R Nine T is $18990 which is the peasant pack cast wheel one - I sat on that Racer one last weekend and decided I didnt want it.

I sat on the R 9T scrambler they have which i could ride quite happily - they offered me the one they have in stock for $23k ride away. Its quite cool its got the polished alloy tank and wire wheels which I like.

I do like their seat heights! Friggen tippy toe on my Ducati.

The Scrambler BMW - would you actually scramble on it? Maybe a shingle drive to your mancave.

Price wise I compare them with BMW's own naked S1000R which is $24 something. OK totally different buyers but ones is hyper tech zillion horses, decent suspenders etc and a grand cheaper than the more hmm 'traditional' R9T (wire wheel).

I'd have thought the old boxer would be cheaper to produce.

Fucked if I know really but there is some heavy hitters in the $25k bracket.

Retro bikes are just for posers who think they can relive the past buy spending thousands on leather jackets, beard oil, open face helmets ( yuk) and ethically farmed blah blah bowls of over milked latte.

I've parked outside cafes in Europe in the late 80's and never looked anything like the brochure, well used non matching riding gear, unshaven and helmet hair and riding an early 70's BMW.

They are selling a dream....don't buy into it, buy a shitter a manual and some tools.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

The R1200R seems a way better bit of kit for the same money...

I won't be buying one. I am saving up to put a new engine in my VFR400.

(actually I have spent all my money on plaid shirts and beard oil....)
