This is the opposite of "optimistic sellers": I reckon this is a deal:

Haha - what?! Maybe all those people in sales have been doing it wrong all these years!

Still, he's definitely not alone in that. I bought the same coffee from pak&save for 6 months at the same price, then one week I go in, it has a "Bonus Buy" and costs a dollar more a bag.

Perhaps it'll work out for him after all.

Like a bar of chocolate with 10% extra free advertised in bold colour at the top. The shop removed the special price its been using for the last 3 months and returns to a mystery retail price that's 20% dearer instead.

I see plenty of these on TM and wonder who the fuck buys them?

This one is superior to the rest because the seller is claiming it to be american. Despite the fact it has no gears brakes or lights!

Re optimistic sellers. I'm looking at another bike. I would love a classic 'sit up' style from the 80's. Here are two listings for a GSX400.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-833079261.htm This seller has gone to the trouble of plenty of photos. Lots of close up details.

This guy couldn't give a shit about first impressions.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=835487045 Big difference in asking prices but that can usually be negotiated.

I like that bike, not sure why but I do. I would tend to also go for someone who put the effort into their listing and use the other listing as an example when negotiating. Even if I paid a little extra think the first seller would be easier to deal with.

This is what I would also love, but take the looks away and $3500 for a single cyl 250 that is 20 years old just seems too high. Seller also has a similar bike but a '93 with 54,000k for $3500, again too much in my opinion.

    or this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-833361575.htm

Trouble is, great bikes while they are still running, not so good when scouring the world for parts.

ERM, that's a CBX750. Who doesn't even know what kind of bike they own? But start prices aren't sale prices on many auctions.
