Hopefully not optimistic, but you lot can tell me if I'm on track with my asking price. Honest feedback please:

Not surprising - pretty sure the auto was first used with that engine in something else besides a bike. The inline crank and auto is a more logical layout anyway. And the engine had enough torque to make it viable. Probably the best of the autos.

I've looked at your add a few times - nice bike, I prefer the look of that model to the later ones. And some good fruit added to it. Kms will slow the sale but price it to suit.

Your thinking of the Convert V1000 it came out in 75 & continued to the early 80s, the Cali had already been around since 71 and was still in 850 guise when the convert was released

Oh dear. All that work and money and IMO it has devalued the bike. The same effort and expense into a restoration would have value.

    My eyes

Must have been a special on yellow paint that week, there's a lot of work to turn that back into something that a right minded person would be seen riding.....

I was thinking $6500-$7000, before I saw the price. Ks are a bit high. Nice bike

The prices they're asking are pretty damn close to what they were new One of the guys I've ridden with since that era had one of the 1st NS250Rs sold in ChCh (first 6 sold by Casbolts) I rode that bike plenty of times & I actually do like them Far better bike than the RZ250RR he had prior.
I'd like to have the 400 sitting the shed for special occasions

I had a mate with one too - it was his "learner" bike. I have a model of Mr F. Spencer's NS500R Grand Prix bike 1983 and I reckon you could vinyl wrap one of those in the HRC colours and it would look mint. I could ride it wearing my F. Spencer Arai. And look like a complete pillock.

The one my mate had was fitted with a factory rear seat cowl......the silly bugger paid something like $500 for it & had to wait nearly 2mths for it to be sent out from japan. He got the bike after he & his RZ were skittled at the Ferry Rd/Fitzgerald Ave intersection though both those were a step up from having had 2 CG110s prior that he used to commute between ChCh & Geraldine so the NS was a huge step up. He actually ended up swapping it after a couple of years with a workmate for a 1yr old 750SE Katana
