There was one for sale at a dealer here. A former KBer tried to advise the dealer that the desription was suspect.

    "Those are not Ohlins forks."
"They've got an Ohlins sticker on them."
    "That's not an Ohlins shock."
    "It's got a yellow spring."

I don't know what happened to the bike in the end, it sat there for a long time and the dealership eventually changed hands. Whether they were trying it on, or had been taken for a ride, who knows?

Lol. Nah. Only one I've worked at that had silly high prices at times, was in Brissy. Every shop I've worked at in Welly has been 100% fair.

Ironically I have a set of Ohlins stickers in the shed from when I supped up the Hornet some years back ...... and my Ducati came with a yellow spring on the rear shock (it's not Ohlins).

Yeah if I looked around I might find some Ohlins stickers too. My forks do have a Racetech sticker though.

I'd have thought most Ducatis have yellow springs now - mine did when I got it but I put the real deal in
    .
The KBer talking to the sales guy had Ohlins forks on his bike and matching rear shock so he knew that of which he spoke.

Had one of these when I was 19. Guess I'm not nostalgic about it. Was cool at the time, but was over it when sold.

It has two problems for top dollar.
    1. Over polished ally and non std seat cover
    2. More importantly, its not an 1100.

It's a bloody clean example of the model. Don't know what they are worth, but it would have to be one of the cleanest examples to buy.

Your two problems can be solved quickly and cheaply.
    1. some 000 steel wool carefully rubbed will take off the gloss without scratching the metal giving a more stock look. Seat - recover ....

    2. it is what it is a 750, so you are correct not as desirable as the big-bore one.

It stunned me for a while. But I steeled myself (should have asked Drew to look as he will no doubt be along to proclaim his undying love for it) and managed to peek at the asking price.

    . . . well that seems reasonable. . . Cough.

Much better than, say, an R1 + one of those tarted up Taxis they make in Australia or maybe don't anymore.

can anyone explain the need for a 40A alternator on a bike?
a load drawing that current would slow the poor thing to a crawl.
