65 people added to their watchlist. Why? No one is going to pay anywhere near 10k.

I think a lot add it to the watch list only after it appears on this thread. That's what i have noticed anyway. I think its people seeing what actually happens.

I put it on my watchlist simply so I can check it from time to time to read the humorous comments that will inevitably come from this.

Yeah but he says he's happy to keep it forever, and at that price he may well have to. He couldn't sell it at $7,000 so he put it up to $10,000? Ah well...

I was wondering what sort of maintenance it had been given, with such a low number of Ks. At 16+ years old, many parts pass their life expectancy and fail.

Yes, the bike is in nice condition, plus it has new tyres, but it would certainly need a serious check over and would never be worth $10k

If I was after that model of 1200 Bandit, I'd prefer to get one that had been ridden, serviced and maintained. I think they still sold them up to 2006/7, so a newer one might be a good idea too

If you read his comments properly he previously had it at $7K and was getting offered $3-$4k which he wouldnt accept. Fair game to him asking $10k when he's after, and probably will take, $7k.

Offer him $7000 then ... and tell him it's a "Genuine" offer ...

Thank you Murray but I did read it "properly" and understand completely what he's trying to do. I still think it's fucking silly. I have no idea what the value of that bike is but the current indications might suggest 3 - 4k?

    Afterthought:

OK so I have consulted TM, 3 to 4k seems about right for one of those. If the low milage is taken into account it might go nearer 5. The Bandit has no "collector" status though, so he'll need a lot of luck to get an offer over $5,000. Any higher than that and he is running into competition from Aprilia, MotoGuzzi and BMW. Still, there's one born every minute.

Yes there may well be, but he needs one stupid enough to pay that much, but bright enough to operate a computer and retain that amount of cash rather than swap it for magic beans. That' a small envelope of the right level of stooopid.

It's in Queenstown, local council should buy it, could use it to plough the roads in winter...
