That piqued my interest. I know a guy who has one and his circumstances could be such that he had put his up for sale. Not so, neither are his. Those appear to be from that collection that was up for sale.

Damn I guess I could list my mint XR650R for $16K+ if this is the going rate for a near 35 year old dunga.

Not sure I’d buy a bike off such a paragon of timely maintenance. The ad would be so much more effective if he’d checked that and fixed it if necessary.

I am in the same boat. Have I developed a new fetish? I could see myself cruising the byways on that - tinted visor of course.

    Read that bit. Sure bud.
That 'possibly may have something to do with the 6" nail hanging out of it'.

Might need a tune up: I can hear the valves clattering like two skeletons doing it in a metal trash can.

Might need rings: rear vision is non existing in the mirrors as a cloud following the bike.

Might have had a small topple over : just maybe went under a milk float turning left onto Union Street at 7.15 of a Tuesday night.

So why, among the other styling sins, did they extend the pillion seat sides down so far? Makes it look like someone's plopped some lounge furniture on the back

. . . Not saying that excuses a brown quilted seat cover with buttons and other furniture fittings.

Hmmm. Lately I have been perving at the odd K1 when they come up on Tardme. Perhaps I better surrender myself at the nearest mental health outfit.

I would still have mine, except for the fact that the seat to peg measurement (these things seemed to be made for short people) played hell with my bung knee and I couldn't ride it for more than about half an hour at the time. I still think a coloured one would be a good investment...

Is your idea of investment spend 30K and 30 years later its worth 6K.

I've had my Ducati Darmah for 30 years and got rid of the 1959 VW Microbus Project in 2001 for 2k that now would be worth in the same state probably 30K.... maybe CX500's will be the next thing....
Also got a project 1959 Triumph T110 thats been rego on hold since my Son was born. He is 23 and has left home. I don't think it worth the effort of restoring with any thought of a return on time and money.
Fortunately I still have my VW Pick Up truck that after taking up shed space for 10 years is approaching completion.
Working at Maccers in the evening would have earned me more.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

I only tried one way back when they were new. The mists of time have erased any memory of legroom. Being 6 ft (in old money) and old and decrepit to boot seems to rule them out. A pity as they are stunners and (often) a very low asking price for what they are.
