...and based on the current price, it wins this thread.
Apart from gash pipes it has no airbox, cut seat, wrong bars and mirrors. Bet it needs a crank/seals from sitting.
Would love it with some money do something with it which would probably be special it but better.
Or std but better.
Don't you look at my accountant.

When a Honda 500/4 sells for $9700.00....who knows, its less to do about the bikes and more to do with nostalgia.

OK so, I'll admit to owning a new metallic brown CB500 new, way back when. I'd disagree with your estimate of the value on all three of your counts. I can't remember but it may have been BIKE magazine, they were recommending buying CB500s over CB750s
A) because they could still be had for less and
B) because the CB500 is a nicer ride.
A quick look around the 'Net tends to confirm my thoughts on the prices
HONDA CB500 (1971) 500cc from Japan It's in a good condition. Almost all parts are original. The engine runs well. Drives well.
£8000 03-Nov-2018
Honda CB500 1975 Gold, original paint with patina, Chassis Number: CB 500 2060057 Engine Number: CB 500E-2148562 Nice chrome, no rust One dent in one of the left side exhaust mufflers Original exhaust Engine starts and runs well Drives good No rust in petrol tank £5900 17.11.18
There's one for 10,000 quid in Britain and another for 16,000 quid. It's almost starting to look like whoever bought that one on TM did quite well?
