You can get a 2018 new one for US$10,000, which is less than half price: https://motorcycles.autotrader.com/m...cout/200493990
the bike is or was sitting in the E Hayes and sons motorworks display in their hardware store, that bike was supposedly made specifically for the auction but for the life of me I can't remember what the money was raised for, I have no doubt that they will get that money for that bike being that it is burt memorabilia.

But it is NOT Burt memorabilia. It's a stock Indian with some fancy stickers. Burt had nothing to do with it.

It's like those silly Steve McQueen Triumphs they issued a few years back. Same bike, different colour and a badge.

I don't disagree with you but that is what it is sold as and some one will buy it.

And spend a heap to make it enjoyable to ride. With a hankering interest I watched a youtube of an owner rider in the states, did a lot of modifying to his new bike to make it useable. Not for me.

Ah, so you've stumbled on the hardley business model. As long as its shiny or very black it will sell despite crumby components, brakes, suspension, engine. . .
Don't you look at my accountant.

Just as many people buy a sports bike and then shell out for a bunch of parts too. Is that different somehow?

It all depends on the length of the actual tassel.

A fancy shock or an electronics up grade will (hopefully) improve performance where as 10kgs of shiny trim and some tassels will not.

This guy needs to give it a rest. This bike has some real value, but the market has spoken for the last year+ you've been listing it: your asking price is too high.

no really over here, it's rare to see a stock harley, most sports bikes might have a muffler tail tidy stomp grip levers and rear sets, but that's about all they do.
