Not sure if this counts as optimistic or not. I mean, its (parts of) a Vincent. "Only" a Comet. Actually its an engine (requires some assembly) and two old rims.

But an Egli-Vincent Comet might be nice

Plus I have a good rolling chassis from a Honda NC30 which would piss off some purists.....

Although for that price you would be likely better putting the money to building a twin engine from new.

Those Aussie's are building them about 1600cc now 187HP at the rear wheel.

Saw a Vincent similar to that destroyed at Phillip Island. It was a sad sight, but I consolled myself with the thought that a bike like that is not really destroyed. It will be rebuilt.

More than likely for this one yes.
but the base ones were more affordable considering they were new and of course considerably better than new ones.
paying 10G for less than an engine will work out pretty spendy.
Here are the guys that build them they build air starters for underground equipment

would be good to see the KBH and the Britten side by side, if the Britten could have benefitted from development in the intervening years
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

So I show the wife and she says, oh that's cute.

Oh well. I suppose I wouldn't be married if she had good taste.

At $7,000 though it's not for sale. Be interesting to see what it does go for - if it goes. It closes 10.00PM tonight. 245 people watching.
