You might have missed the post before questioning my posts, but the person has deleted it, perhaps seeing the hypocrisy.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
The ecology thanks you.
Couldn't you have got all Shackleton and made a Dog sleigh?

Yrah it has ok bones I guess. Just the 750 was a dog.
850 cured a lot of the major fuck ups but it was tainted so badly all they could do was drop it and it was 30 years till they were brave enough to try again.
Still a woeful rattle cab paint job, and it doesn't run correctly. Putting pod filters on spoiled many 80s bikes and quite a job to get them to run properly again, beyond the tinkerer.

What a load of bollocks. Dad had the last version of the XS750 with the larger 24ltr tank and a few other nice additions. Yamaha coils were notorious for failing at that time and was the only issue he had with it. Handled as fine as any contempary similar capacity motorcycle at the time they were released. The XS850 was just an overbored XS750 with a few internal engine and frame changes to cope with the extra power output. and competed with the GS850.and also had issues with the coils. As did the XS1100.

Never rode the triple. They had ads in cycle 1980 with the different engines
Rode the single SR500 (had a TT500)
Rode the twin XS650, or was it TX
Rode the four XS11.
None of them made me want one.
