But not at the same time.

You'll have to go 30kph to get 30km. That's not a problem is it?

It's not speculating, just inflation proofing.
If it's worth the same price in 5 years then it's actually devalued because inflation.

True, but there's a lot out there that aren't in that position and get into a place & graft their arses off each week working for literally someone else ie: the bank. I'm glad I busted a gut yrs ago and off the grid now sub 50

I'm glad I went to night school, hung up my tools and overalls and work in an office.

Alas my spare cash seems to be going to the next generation to assist house purchases....thanks US Banking system for fucking up the world.

The next GFC can't be too far away....American Isolationist policies ...two large countries with nigh on

    Dictators....sound familar?

You're pointing the "housing crisis" finger too far from home mate. The yanks had their own correction in response to their own wee socialist experiment, we won't see houses the price our parents paid until we remove all of the barriers to building them we've assembled since then.

I thought it was the GFC resulting in quantitive easing ( printing money) making money worth less, coupled up with the rising middle class in China sneaking money out and putting into assets ( read houses) and low interest rates spurred on by the Federal Reserve to kick start making America Great Again and so on.

We will never see house prices like 10 years ago ever again. My two hour drive from Shanghai Airport a few backs showed me what the future holds and its ugly tower blocks.

Lots of houses being built in Pokeno but FFS.....its probably 3-4 hours a day driving to pay for the frigging thing.

Hey HDC, another one to add to your Honda Collection.
    Bit scabby but....

...Fuck, I thought that was my one...mine is a pretty much like that, maybe a little less rust and completely as it was when it was brand spanking...it's probably for the 'off', at some point soon...I'm kind of over old shit now that I'm just about classified as the same...

So if we could build the house your parents did, same size, standards, etc etc what makes you think it would cost more now than it did then?

Ahhh! Yeah, when we bought the apartment, it was previously owned by an out of town company, and used for a crash pad when they had peeps in Welly. So we offered them another 5k if they left everything behind, and they took the offer. Right down to cutlery and TV's etc. So I've put up with green leather every since. It's fucking lasted well mind you. I've been here for 18 years now. And yep, the 465 was a better bike than the 490. Four speed boxes suck, and the 490 used to vibrate, rattle and pink it's self to death!
