I went to go and take a look at an MV Agusta Brutale advertised on Trademe last night. I'd contacted the chap over a week ago to arrange the time and day and it's advertised as being 'Immaculate' and a lack of use being the reason for selling. I discovered that he'd lost his licence riding it rather too enthusiastically and his idea of 'Immaculate' isn't quite the same as mine (Or indeed many others I suspect).

Imagine my disappointment when I turned up to find it clearly having not had any TLC for some time. Unwashed and the battery that dead that the bike simply cut out as soon as the jump leads were disconnected... The battery was that far gone...

The kicker? he wants $18.5k for it...

the old square plates are still available as a special order, "If you are ordering a motorcycle plate, it will be made in a One Line format. If you require a Two Line square plate ph 0800 736 253 (0800 REMAKE)" you can get a new plate number made up as a two line plate.

Why the hell would you, the bloody things flexed too much at the mountings and fell off, one of the reasons for changing back to single line plates.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

This was a four cylinder bike advertised as a 2015 model. I rode another example last night but wasn't too impressed to be honest. Looks nice though.

Savages make nice cafe racers - I'd pay that for one like that .. but I would rather have a GS1200SS ..

Strangely I saw one yesterday on a sandy trail ride. He wasn't on the ride.
They were scarey to ride .. not worth that price

What did you think? I also rode F3 800 few months ago and found that too throttle choppy for town riding.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

I also rode an F3 675 which I liked a lot. I suspect this particular Brutale needed some TLC so I don't want to judge it too harshly. The 675 was chuffing good though. I've traded my Harley Street Rod for it as I liked it a lot more than I was expecting.

I had exactly that happen with a one-line plate - luckily my mate behind me saw it go and picked it up .. I had no idea.
