Speaking of Honda 450's. My mate has spend $$$$ building up a Honda 450, now 500cc racer.

After two sessions at Pukekohe and HD decided its time to give up racing.

A no expense spared build. He says it owes him over 15K.

I don't think it has any rego history so not road legal.

Comes with a full fairing. Dynoed at 50 HP he tells me.

PM if you want his contact details.

If he had bought a tired old BMW & pulled the lights off & raced that, he would only be in the hole for a couple of grand about now.

Actually....he did that and spent north of 15K on that too, crashed it twice and its since been sold to another guy who has crashed it three times.

He was however 5 seconds faster than my one that cost less than 5k to build.

Despite what Optimistic Tyre Kickers say, prices on old bikes are going up.

The F2 were less flighty than the Ks but needed bearings and suspension fluids renewed and matched tyres. A 120 on the rear screwed them up. I machined an FZ400 wheel (same spoke pattern as F2) so I could run a 130 ok.

Nice Norton, shame about the crack - the owner knows there is potential for hurt opening that up thus it's not done.

    Ducati on Trade Me.

Can't belive what some people are asking these days for bike prices on TDM, did'nt think the money was around, are they being sold?
Spotted this on TDM although rather nice, why would you pay $36500.00 for it.

No idea of it's value but it is friggen cool. I want it. OK not $36K want, but darn I'd love to Sunday ride it.

Given the expensive top end new motorcycles I see on the road all the time, there is plenty of money around.

I've been wrong many times before, but I'd be surprised if it'll do 100mph.
