I had a set sorted in Straya and also fork ears. I have a set of fork tubes too but they are for a later model.

The interesting thing is this is NZ new first registered 1974. The motor serial number is K4, but the frame # is K2. Apparently that was a thing - the antipodean ones were assembled with bits. It makes ordering cycle parts from David Silver and the like entertaining because (particularly in the front end) there are detail changes between K2 (early) and K2 (late) through K7. Not as many as between K0, K1 and K2 early.

Stanbding Joke, Suzuki built new shocks for the RG works race bikes with a resv., but then they realised they wouldn't fit. They were working through how to make them fit with new swings with cut away etc and how the cost and strength etc etc etc. Some European who was in the team walked up and turned the shock around .....

On the other side, if it only goes for a bit more than reserve it might be a hell of a bargain

Its the first i knew about Yosimura being involved with two strokes.
I was intrigued by the Yoshi comment myself and did a bit more internet surfing. I looked up the word ( turns out to be surname ) Tsujimoto which is on the fairing of the aforementioned RG. A Satoshi Tsujimoto raced in Japan in the 80's , rode a 500 in the GP one year in Japan against Rainey and co, rode a GSX400r in the TT F3 in 1985 , I found the schedules , and Daytona 200 in 87 for Suzuki. The F3 bike built by Yoshimura . So possibly the reason for the comment, albeit totally incorrect in my opinion , we know the locals in Japan adorn vehicles their hero's and the like .

what's silly about them?. honda were brave in that era, although benelli had done the same nearly a decade earlier, they were at least trying something out. they were no wider than a gs1000 of the day and had very few faults considering.
yip, some blew a fuse when racing but that's never happened before now has it?
Honda go to work to sell stuff, sticking their neck out doing something like that is sometimes what's needed in business.
they changed the face of motorcycling in many respects in 1969 with the CB750 and then let others ahead of them for the next decade so they were trying to do the same again.

My one was that colour. It was actually a nice paint job, especially for a Suzuki of that era.

Well said that man. Benelli added basicly what was two CB500 cylinders for their 750 six and licenced the manufacture of Honda engines for their sohc 500-650 road bike range.

The Honda ethos in racing has often, with notable exception, been Engine over everything. This is sort of the roadbike equivalent. And I agree, sometimes brave produces some interesting ideas.

The engineer responsible for that bike was the same guy who designed the RC166 250cc six. He had visited a USAF base and been impressed by the F4 Phantom. The orange and black instruments on that bike were inspired by the Phantom's gauges. So too was an exhaust system he had fabricated that made the bike sound like a Phantom. Sadly someone further up the financial food chain was not impressed by the idea and that exhaust was canned.
