    Ahh that's only Surface Rusttm.

It's the Rust under the Surface Rusttm you need to be worried about.

Currently EICMA is on again. Clips are popping up on YouTube. Some new models, some same ol' same ol', and a tease or two. In the latter category a Honda 900cc V3 with "compressor".

    Update:
The compressor is an electrically powered fan forcce feeding the airbox.

Packaging the fuel and rider and the stuff to make it road legal would be a challenge, but I love that concept. Imagine it with Britten-esque bodywork and absolute minimum of road legal compliant frippery. Would buy.

Only if styled as a cross between Bobber, Cafe Racer, and Adventure bike so I don't have to choose which worn out fad I'm following.

So, an electric turbo. While not denying Honda can make anything happen, wondering about the amount of electric power required to spin the compressor fast enough to supply the volume of air necessary - given the 130-140,000 rpm is not unusual for an exhaust driven turbo. So where is this electric power coming from? The engine alternator, which requires engine power to spin it. Whereas an exhaust driven turbo is (almost) free power from otherwise wasted heat energy.

On demand power when needed. Can be powered from Regen power.
A decent size road bike is only likely at full throttle for approx 1% of the time.
Honda is not really a big turbo fan (get it)
other than f1 the CX and the City I don't recall many. edit they did a civic 1.5 as well.

The compressor could be compared to a turbo - as you have done. It does sorta look like one. Pressurising the airbox though might require less output than what a turbo could produce.

I've got a few old desktops I could pull the fans out of, we're onto something here.

Bike has enough shunt for me, but my new van is pretty pedestrian. More Power!

That bloody V3 is bothering me. I've had singles, two stroke and four; a V Twin; a triple; fours standing up, lying down, and in a V. No V3 though.
    Bugger!

I wouldn't let it worry you. Honda's record with V3's is 50/50 so far.

Old favourite MVX is a regular in this thread.

If this one is as reliable or well designed, it may also achieve disaster status.
